I do the Fisherman's Rib with knit stitches only! It is simple and beautiful and FAST 😁

Great video. When I do the brioche stitch as a Continental knitter, I do the yarn over and slip the stitch in one sweeping motion instead of two separate steps. It flows very nicely. Thanks for this video. I love both the Fisherman’s Rib and the Brioche. Nice to have found your channel. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. I see you have crochet videos as well. Very nice as I do both!🤗🤗

How about the differences in fixing mistakes? Wouldn't fisherman rib be much easier than brioche?

Nice! (music was a bit distracting, and I didn't see you'd redone the video without it until after). I am always doing a two colour brioche, which definitely requires purling. I've never tried fishermen's rib, but i knew the two techniques produce identical results. I'd like to try fishermen's rib, too; I'm interested to know if the Nancy Marchant twists, turns, leafy stuff, etc. are doable using fishermen's rib technique. Thanks.

Btw, there are good videos on how to drop down to a brioche mistake, and ladder back up. Does require a crochet hook. I find it easy, but think it's probably harder if only working in one colour.

Truly helpful! I’ve tried brioche a few times and it just didn’t work for me. I couldn’t wrap my mind around it. Your video was super helpful and I greatly appreciate how slow you did it.

I totally didn't understand anything about that brioche

I’m quite pleased to find this, because I’ve been looking at patterns which include brioche stitching, and my Mom who is an excellent knitter said she’d never heard of it. I showed her pictures and she said “isn’t that just fisherman’s rib?”

Thank you for showing these two stitches. I love doing brioche on scarves. I may have to do one in the fisherman's rib to compare. I didn't realize they were just about the same. Thanks!
