Lot of gems for business management and growth in this video 🏆
ОтветитьLearning:
1)Work on the business not in the business*
The great bakers want a wonderful product not just a great cash flow! This guy only cares about $$$$$$$$$$$ and the quality of what he’s selling is second to his bottom line. Sad.

ОтветитьI work in a Mexican bakery and let me tell you.. this small bakery makes around 3million a year. But deduct the employees, inventory, rent, utilities.. the owners make around 1mil
ОтветитьYeah I’d agree from the research that I’ve carried out it turns out payroll costs 2 times what the ingredients cost and then the renting is an insignificant figure
Ответитьi wonder how to start bakery, thank you for video!
Ответитьthe business bakery in my neighbourhood looks always busy. this one is on a business block and they have maybe 6 workers inside working full time. they sometimes have a line outside the door. there is not alot of seating inside. there was alot of take outs. i like eating baking goods too. i'm happy that you were successful in your business. my parents were a restaurant owner for 30 years.
ОтветитьThis channel inspires me a lot, I want o start making cakes for business. I hope I start soon.
ОтветитьHello
Ответитьthis guay says YOU know every 30 sec but verry helpfull vid btw love it
ОтветитьWith the rise in the prices of products used. What do you do to manage the situation. Do you reduce the size of the product or the quality? And if so how do the clients react to it
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this video. The bakery business is a rewarding business, and this video helps show how to get into it. I help bagel bakeries with already made frozen raw dough bagels, par-baked bagels and full baked bagels. A&S Bagels out of Long Island, New York can ship throughout the United States bagels for sale in your bakery, coffee shop or bagel shop.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video and wow this was very helpful
ОтветитьI have great respect for you and to the business owner. However, I'm a bit confused about something. If business owner paying approximately $100,000 per month to his workers and his annual sales are just over $1 million, I'm having trouble understanding how he making a profit. The numbers don't seem to add up, or perhaps I've overlooked something. Could you please clarify?
ОтветитьThank you UpFlip for this interesting video, also thank you for asking him if starting with 50k was even possible?! lol. I loved the video, especially now that I'm looking forward to open a bakery this video was really motivating. Amazing interview!
Ответитьgreat tips for any starter!
👍
I own a 20+ unit pizza chain. In 2022, one of our long-time employees, Gordon, explained that he was working on a sourdough and asked if I would support him in getting his bread to the local Farmer’s Market. He needed use of my dough plant/equipment (and importantly, our Board of Health permitting). I offered use of our dough plant and a little expertise and voila, Gordon’s in business. He’s been at it for over a year and makes good money. It’s a lot of work-don’t be fooled-but he bakes 80-100 loaves each Friday and sells out at two Farmers’ Markets in neighboring towns every week, for $8/loaf. That’s a great side hustle; it’s actually awesome.
Lessons 1: Gordon loves baking bread and he put in the time to study & hone his craft; Gordon’s sourdough is the best I’ve ever tasted.
Lesson 2: He offers variety, San Fran, German Rye, Whole Grain to keep his Customers hungry for his product.
and he’s got the stamina to do so (he’s 65 yrs old) to do so week after week. He loves what he does.
Lesson 3: He started small, almost no capital outlay (>$2,000) and he’s immediately profitable. As our Baker above explained, the cost of sourdough raw ingredients is 15% of the retail price of his product. THAT leaves a lot of profit. BUT it’s a lot of his labor, it’s a 8-12 hour day of mixing, proofing, baking. Then he drives around, sets-up his tent and sells-out (typically in > 2 hrs).
THINK about what you love, what ‘you can bring to the table’ and think ‘outside the box’ on ways to produce and get it to your Customers efficiently.
Good luck!
Other than the "Live, Love, Eat" sign what an amazing bakery and entrepreneur.
ОтветитьI am a pastry chef with plenty of experience in differents areas, I have been preparing myself doing a lot of courses, workshops etc. I am currenlty working in the best patisserie in Irelad cause my dream is open my own shop. The only obstacle is the money that I need to open something.
Ответить1,000,000 gross revenue with six figure monthly staff cost. Is this a loss making business?
ОтветитьEspetacular interview👏👏👏
ОтветитьOwning a bakery in this economy is hard, cost of ingredients keeps going up,gotta factor in all the expenses and at the end of the month, looks like just breaking even ... waiting out til the end of the lease to sell...rent is too high ...but I do love baking!
ОтветитьWould have liked to see someone passionate about baking instead of an investor buying a business
ОтветитьThis is no bakery
ОтветитьImagine believing this bakery looks like anything other than a run down business taking advantage of it's employees and customers. What a POS
ОтветитьThank you for each and every video of you bro
ОтветитьThis is a cafe not a bakery. Is most of his profits coming from the breakfast lunch menu items and coffees ? Did you ask??
ОтветитьPay your employees very well & treat them well. & teachthemto treat thecustomers well.Your profits will come with it. Good business practices are key.
ОтветитьThis video was not helpful. He bought the business. He did not start from scratch 👎
ОтветитьThank you for this interview...it was very insightful, it inspired me to start my own bakery...i hope that i can one day be i can run a major bakery such as this one🍩🍪
ОтветитьI love your videos, but I think it’s kind of awkward when you start talking good about a business person from a previous video. Sometimes I think the host at first thinks you are talking about them.
ОтветитьCan you do an interview with a bakery that's from ground up like Maxwells coffee shop please. This one is not to informative to me.
ОтветитьI am watching from Japan!!I can learn a lot from your channel! I will be in Washington state in few years and do my business! I hope I can see you then!
ОтветитьThe Pep Guardiola of business congratulations. I'm on that path.
ОтветитьInteresting if this business still successful after 1 year. I checked on the site that bakery works until 1:30 pm. Probably they sell more for b2b
ОтветитьNOT THE BEST EXAMPLE OF HOW TO START A BUSINESS BUT YES HOW TO MAINTAINING IT...WONDER IF HE ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A BREAD..😉
ОтветитьGreat interview and interviewer👍..Really respect the fact that the owner was willing to share his experience and tips about running a business which many won't .What a generous fellow! .Thank you and I hope he will find much success and happiness not only in business but also in life 😊
ОтветитьKeys I've taken from this vid:
You can start with $50k
Use social media to your own advantage
Build your shop in a good location
Do something you're passionate about
I want to open a bakery in Spartanburg sc

ОтветитьIf i had a dollar for every time he says you know i be rich already no need to start a business anymore you know
ОтветитьNice business
ОтветитьVery informative. Thank you upflip. How do one get angel investors to invest
