Dang...
I wish there was such thing for a Canon 5D mkII.
So how do you tell the camera that you inserted a third party focusing screen? Does 6D meter correctly with it without any change in the settings?
Ответитьthanks for this video if you're still around :-) i'm a D750 shooter and i love my Zeiss 135/2 APO Sonnar and Voigtlander 125/2.5 APO Lanthar MF lenses and am considering doing this. if there is an update to this video or long term review please let me know. TIA.....rick in Japan
ОтветитьHope to companies who listen to the voice and demands of customers s.a. Fujifilm or Sony come with models that come directly off the factory with these virtual split/micro prism focus assist focusing screens. Especially that these are the pioneers of the mirrorless and thus reborn of vintage manual lenses that we all dearly love.
ОтветитьI need help please reply
My 6D canon mark 2 has a scratch, I accidentally scratch it but I’m confused about replacing it. What focusing screen should I pick?
useful video. thank you.
ОтветитьThank you for this very helpful video. :)
ОтветитьThanks for covering this topic 👍
I was looking forward to replace my focusing screen, but not I am convinced against it.
Doesn't this throw the camera's metering completely off?!
ОтветитьI used it for macro photos
ОтветитьThere really is no answer to accurate manual focusing with DSLR's. I have tried many options the only thing that works is live view.
Ответитьusing this focusing screen in my nikon d610, any disturb for auto focus?
Ответитьdoes this thing affect auto focusing?
ОтветитьIt's possible to use a FM2 focusing screen on a 6d?
ОтветитьHi. Thank you. I'm getting the 6d and I was wondering if this focus screen would work with my samyang 85mm dxp f1.2.
ОтветитьGreat information. Thanks.
ОтветитьHave you tried to use magic lantern and focus peaking? I bet you will like it :-)
ОтветитьVery nice explanation and thanks for sharing.. One question though, If you put back an AF lens and autofocus normally, does the camera red square light up as normal?
ОтветитьLearn to use it properly! It actually works very well and you can take tack sharp photos with it. The key: learn to use the microprism as well!
In certain situations, the split image just doesn't work, because - for example - your object is too small. Or there are no protruding edges upon which you can nail the focus with the split images. Use the microprism collar around the split image! Focus with a large aperture lens until the image in the collar becomes totally clear. These two methods of focusing actually complement each other. Use each in the appropriate situation. The split image is perfect for landscapes, bigger objects and portraits. On portraits, you can use it on the model's eyes for example. As that's the part you always want in focus. On buildings, you can use it on windows' brackets, and so on... just be very creative.
I learned to focus with it on my digital camera and when I later got into film photography, it was a breeze to transition away from AF totally.
This split focus screen useful or not for auto focus lens with wider aperture???
ОтветитьDon't know why they got rid of this. I miss this so much
