Hello, can i use 0.1mm wire? Or maybe 0.3mm? I can only find that on amazon.
And can i use high voltage module for that instead of arc lighter? It cost less and is more powerfull

Hey Jay this is Jay what do you think can be done with a magnetic field Sputtered on glass globe filled with neon gas with the right Driver set up mosfet-transistor high voltage plasma do you think we could make it dance by applying alternating frequency and current on separate sputtered Plains or axises integrated on the glass globe sputtered with like copper I'm just thinking outside the Globe thinking on how to spice up back Mac size toroid experimentation do you think that😅 making a plasma toroid dance with the proper applications is plausible?????

Hi Jay. I'm building your 50Kv arc lighter Tesla coil. I opened the lighter, but it has two pairs of high voltage wires. Should I only use one pair, or is there a way to use both pairs? Thanks in advance.
I'm so keen to finish this project.
Cheers,

If you put the ground of the tesla coil circuit near to the knob shaped top of the tower rather than your hand, would the corona discharge go into the ground the same way it goes into your hand? Would it damage the tesla coil since you are essentially shorting to ground?

GENERAL NOTES FYI:

**The HV cap 667-ECW-HC3F392JD can ship immediately but with cut leads which you can still use. The one called out, without the "D" suffex is out of stock.
For the HV PS - I used the Harbor Freight Bug Zapper and it's TO92 transistor - D965 good for 5 Amp collector current, at 3 volts input, the output was 5.8 KV, using a 4.5 volt input the output was 7.4 KV.... The swatter HV PS only draws ~ .6 amps for either 3 or 4.5 volt input.... Outputs will vary with each swatter, so it is good idea to build/use a HV probe....

*I ordered/ used 580-MHR0424SA108F70 - 10KV rated 1000M ohm, (1 Gig ohm 1.4 W) resistors and these work nicely for a high voltage probe. Use 5 in series for a 500 to 1 probe, (500 to 1), (or use 10 for a 100 to 1 probe at a 100KV rating.... ****Important - These ratios are with using a "better" DVM with a typical 10 Meg ohm input resistance....***

**AND, the very hard to find TO92 heat sinks are listed at Mouser - 532-575200B00 $1.05 each.... This will help the D965 transistor dissipate the heat much better than without using one and will let you use a 4.5 volt input power a bit more safely without overheating.... Make sure to still use a GOOD thermal grease....
These general notes may help with others in building their own mini Tesla Coils.... Mine is cranking out solid 1 inch "bolts" and when the TO92 heat-sinks arrive I will operate with extended run times to test.... I'm having a blast.. BE SAFE.... USE ONE HAND ONLY around HV....

Hey man love ur videos, Awsome builds and great craftsmanship - I ordered the supplies to make one of these - but I’m already thinking about once I get working ,getting a glass bowl/ globe and maybe some acrylic for the base and making some feed throughs a so i can put it under vacuum and hopefully get an even cooler effect with it - I’d love to hear ur thoughts- thanks and keep up the great work!

So small, to power a light, this model needs to be so large.
All the scam videos about a infinity coil, (Tesla) making your home, OFF GRID by one tiny infinity coil is all a bunch of BS.
this is 50,000 volts and barely 1 in arches.. Barely lit a tiny florescent bulb.

Consider size to power just 1 regular standard size light bulb for a home.

Jay, Thanks for all your hard FUN in these presentations. With your "Bug Zapper" TC you did not use a HV diode in the circuit??? Can you please explain WHY it seemed to work or maybe, it could it have worked "better" if a HV diode was used? Thanks for your reply.... Hank P.S. IF the lighters output is a pulsed HV DC, then what does the HV diode do? Thanks again.
