I love this so much and keep coming back to it. Her reactions were so pure and showed what a true fan she is, and my reactions were the same! My mind is fully blown every time I see this because I avoided any media around Rogue One before I saw it in a theatre and so I never even remotely imagined that it would end by being the preceding scene to the first movie. For 40 years, I never once thought about what could have happened in the moments immediately before experiencing that first scene in the first movie in the theatre, so I was totally unprepared for the intense emotional release I felt. Darth Vader was also in a different framing in 1977 and I never conceived of him being actively involved in such a brutal scene only a moment before we were introduced to him. I was completely unprepared to see Leia in this movie, and it just blew my mind. Her reaction when she sees Leia's face is so awesome ... I just love it so much, and I felt the same. It really is the best and most surprising ending to any movie I have ever seen, and to see it, after living through a 40-year gap, is also a part of what made it so intense, plus maybe the first time I ever saw a digital version of a character that looked convincing. The shock felt like discovering something inconceivable about my family or like going back in time and meeting my mother before I was born. I don't know, but it certainly transported me back in time, and I felt it was 1977 again for me for an amazing moment. The feel of the movies and playing with the timeline over decades makes SW so unique in culture. Thank you for posting this, I would never otherwise know that other SW fans feel like I did about this. I can't believe this is only 3 minutes of film -- but seriously the emotional trajectory in that short time was cinematic mastery in storytelling -- and total gift to fans, best ever. Thank you!

I love rouge one, the ending scene is fantastic. The effects are incredible, like when the AT AT Blows up and splits in 2! Having the characters slowly die builds a sense of finality to the movie. And it ends with a recreation of my favorite Star Wars scene. Not to mention how RO focuses on the battles a lot more. It’s why I love the battlefront games, really makes you feel like your fighting for your life!

When I saw this in theater, I was literally holding onto the seat until the rebel yelled launch and that’s when I realized it was a prequel to a new hope.

Absolute BEST ending to anything, ANYTHING in the entire Star Wars lore. The only movies worthwhile are the original 77' 80' and 83' trilogy and Rogue One. Everything else is just cheap icing on an already awesome cake.
