As the person who coined the term “Dreadpunk,” I can verify that it is indeed a newfangled way of saying “Gothic horror.” I created it, fang-in-cheek, to describe the wave of Gothic horror that we saw a couple of years ago: Penny Dreadful, Crimson Peak, etc. I love that stuff but the term itself was largely a goof.
ОтветитьNo Solarpunk?
ОтветитьHonorable mention to Solarpunk, which focuses on solar energy and a positive relationship between nature and technology, being overall more optimistic on it’s approach.
Also shoutout to Y2k and Fruitger Aero, or any other early 2000s aestethics.

ОтветитьVery funny but not accurate at all, everything comes from Steampunk and Cyberpunk. It's a trivial dichotomy made by a time-split. After that everything is a digression of style. It's from art history...DYOR

Ответитьwe got to make castlepunk/ cobblepunk
basicly reskin the major issue in cyberpunk but make it medieval. trade corpos with nobility, punks with paesants. cyber upgrades with either monster's limb replacement or mechanical prostetic. and cops for inquisitors
main themes would be the lost of civilisation, the decadance of nobility, the dependancy on the church and feudalism
the best exemple of this would be berserk, demon souls, the diablo serie and even game of thrones.
Solar Punk

ОтветитьAbout Afropunk, there are not many well-known works in the genre, but there are quite a few, mostly African comic books. Unfortunately, most of these stories have cool ideas but never really go anywhere, usually due to a lack of resources to actually publish the comics. Here in Africa we normally call such works "Afrofuturism" but I would categorise that as a subgenre of Afropunk.
ОтветитьHow often do l make jokes about chemistry? Periodically.
