ОтветитьThe obstacle is the way part 2
Ответитьemail address doesnt work
ОтветитьLove your philosophy.
Background music is annoying
Amazing once again
ОтветитьThank you. You message to be generous and accept the opportunity in a difficult situation is timely.
ОтветитьSolid video. Thank You. 😊
ОтветитьDude this stuff inspires me over and over again to live my best life, be my best self, and be kind and patient. It’s funny because I’ve always felt this way but in life you can be lead astray and these videos always bring me back. Now I find myself in traffic sometimes saying ‘well that wasn’t very stoic of me’ I catch myself more than ever now. You are my mentor just like all the guys before you were yours. Keep rocking buddy! Love this!
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the song in the background? I would like to learn to play it.
Ответитьcould you help me understand how the saying that goes, "be undisturbed by fear, and watch it fall on its own weight?", i heard it somewhere but find it difficult to practise how to become "undisturbed" vs ignoring
ОтветитьThe ideas that I've learned from your videos have made a huge difference in my approach to life. They are not so much an 'instant fix' - rather a set of tools to negotiate difficult circumstances.
I'm grateful for the time you spend making these videos. Thank you.
Fair warning: if you sign up for the daily e-mail, this guy will spam. you. To. death. with daily offers for merch and other offers. Kinda disappointed about that. I had to unsubscribe.
Ответитьp̴r̴o̴m̴o̴s̴m̴ 🤭
ОтветитьRecently I got diagnosed with heart condition Atrial fibrillation at 46 on top of that also diagnosed with high cholesterol and then an auto immune disease oral lichen planus the stress of all of this has caused alopecia of my beard. It’s been a lot to deal with and I’m trying to practice the stoic philosophy, but I’ll be honest it’s a struggle. I know I shouldn’t complain or feel sorry for myself. I know I’m choosing the stress that’s causing my hair to fall out. Anyone else out there who’s actually being tested ? Finding it hard but will strive forward and hope to finally reach a place of acceptance and peace with my reality.
ОтветитьMy two rules of stoicism, I mind my business and filter my environment by keeping in kind-hearted souls
ОтветитьExcellent advice. Thanks!
ОтветитьAccept your reality
Control your strong emotions
Difficult people are the opportunity
Give up revenge
You become like your friends
Improvement comes from humility
That's why my faith in God is very important to me, prayer doesn't necessarily changes things but it helps me accept reality knowing God is control gives me peace, joy and direction. But if you don't believe in God I'm sure other things will work as well.
ОтветитьOh a lefty. No wonder you’re so intelligent 😉
Ответитьkeeping cool is good
ОтветитьRyan thank you so much for everything you do. I am very grateful for it!
ОтветитьBoss, I accept my reality but I'm not happy with it. That's great, you're staying for the next shift? We could use you. More dollars, less problems.
ОтветитьI don't control the weather, but I could stay inside.
ОтветитьI would rather avoid difficult people, they're peace stealers.
ОтветитьStoicism has helped me more than anything else during the hardest times of my life, I’m so lucky I found this.
ОтветитьI am glad to run into your channel
ОтветитьAnd the meek shall inherit the earth...
Ответить“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Advice is cheap, it’s practice that makes perfect. I loved all the insight in your video that Stoicism provided. I’ll have to sign up for your email list. Can’t wait to start raising my consciousness. Thank you.
ОтветитьAgain words to live by. What a world to be in.
ОтветитьI think it is interesting that you did not quote verbatim each saying you were speaking of. It changed the meaning when you did that. Like "the soul becomes dyed".
ОтветитьInteresting video ❤
ОтветитьI love the back drop of a variety of privately owned bookstores🫶
ОтветитьI’m surprised you aren’t still wearing a mask
ОтветитьI’ve been listening to an eastern orthodox Christian talking about religion named Jonathan pageau. I’m still working through a lot of what he says but I’ve heard him say being a Christian boils down to “right attention and right praise”. So if our attention is on Jesus, essentially the top of the mountain of character traits we value, we slowly become more and more like Jesus. He also discusses how “love” and “attention” are the same. Giving attention whether we’d say we agree with something or not, conveys a type of love.
ОтветитьMy wife did just that. She was a big booty hoe for thirty years and then she got a nice cleaning job and married me. She is writing volume six of her philosophical reflections on the essence of being a hoe. I am working in a sewage works these days and she inspired me to write 8 volumes of sewage works poetry. The love of knowledge is what keeps us going as we get old and reflect on the life we have seen on earth.
ОтветитьDo you actually work at your bookstore?
ОтветитьFind an ancient philosophy. Live it. Monetize it.
ОтветитьThis is so brilliant
ОтветитьThe 1st thing I did was to click on this video. The past 2 years I’ve been glued to the news cycle because of everything going on. I don’t want to bury my head in the sand, but rather be totally aware of all the BS & the players. However, it’s a drain & im ready to find better boundaries around the news which starts w turning it off, getting the scoop quicker, & turning it off. So, step 1….click on something uplifting & let go of the things I can’t control as much as is needed.
ОтветитьRyan Holiday’s Stoicism is contaminated with outcome dependance and the need to “win, win, win”. The framers of our great philosophy would laugh at this ego-ist, capitalist.
Ответитьmy best tip for giving up on revenge, every time a bad thought about someone to repeat “i hope they’re happy i hope they’re healthy i hope they’re successful” until you mean it
ОтветитьIf only you would stop with the background music. It is disturbing the message, I think.
ОтветитьStoic is good learing, sorry for interruption
ОтветитьThe problem is we have no free-will, so trying to improve our lives is futile and pointless.

Epictetus: "You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength."

ОтветитьThis is great
ОтветитьLoved it.
