In theory, this is how it works naturally. Males are providers and protectors and females are caretakers and nurturers. However, modern humans are far from nature now . Everything we do is designed off the principles created by society rather than nature.

In my opinion there is always a Head of Household, or “King” to put casually. It’s even a part of taxes. Whether that’s Male or Female does not make a difference. They’re just the main provider/decision maker of the household (You announce it for taxes every year). That doesn’t exempt them from performing other duties. Marriage and parenting is a teamwork effort.

My wife and I also stick to the traditional duties. I do the working and providing and she cares for the kids and does the housekeeping. That’s just how we have divided our duties in the best interest of the family. She is not my servant though. She does not serve me upon request and never will I set that as a standard. Also, in the absence of one, we are both very capable of performing the others roll. If she is gone, guess I’m doing dishes and making dinner. May not be as good as her, but it’s what is required of me as a partner and father. At the same time, if I’m not home, looks like she cutting the grass.
