I’m not a patient person. Could I use a Dremel to do this?
ОтветитьOh, but you can trust rust. Chrome, won't get you home.
ОтветитьAwesome! Looks great, I have a 1978 Kawasaki that needs some of your attention!
ОтветитьAmazing…I am going to try to be meticulous as you rather than a brute😊
ОтветитьVery good , I’ve made a note of products and method but I will use a dremal
ОтветитьWadded up aluminum foil works great, then use wax to finish it off!
ОтветитьEvapoRust does a better job without abraibing and thinning out the chrome.
ОтветитьYou ain’t polishing chrome when it’s that pitted bro! You’re just polishing the Steel in those deep areas. Rust is gonna come right back. You wasted your time
ОтветитьFound same fender clean looks new several for 199 or less no polishing or dents :)
ОтветитьViel gequatsche und der Rost ist bald wieder da 😅
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьWell after doing all that work you should have Clear coated it and it would stay long without have to wax every time !
ОтветитьSOS pad and WD 40 work well. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
ОтветитьGreat job , some rust is to deep to get out though but very big improvement 😊
ОтветитьScrewed up tin foil followed by metal polish. Infallible.
ОтветитьI read: How the Polish rusted chrome 😅 Like wtf have they been up to now again 😂
ОтветитьTurtle wax has a chrome polish that works just as well. Shined up my 10 speed bike when I was a teen and that was my only means of transportation.
ОтветитьNice job!
ОтветитьYou should make sure you are talking every single second of the video.
ОтветитьPits mean the chrome is gone. Nothing you can do. You might shine the steel under it but you are not restoring the chrome it's gone. The steel wool is just acting as an abrasive to smooth out the chrome and blend it to the metal under the chrome shinning the metal. The chrome is gone where it is pitted. Stop fooling people.
ОтветитьPlain ole BRASSO is the same thing
ОтветитьI would have started with aluminum foil and water...
ОтветитьThanks for sharing that was awesome. I have some aluminum car rims that are filthy do you have a video on cleaning aluminum rims and polishing?
I’ll check your other videos. Thanks again
Turned out beautiful . Amazing product. Thanks for sharing 😅
ОтветитьOh that's easy... Just scream at it kurwa very loud. It should help :D
ОтветитьWay to ruin your chrome and polish the steel underneath.
ОтветитьChrome does not rust. This I the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
ОтветитьOld School method that costs pennies. Bowl of water and loudly crimped aluminum foil. Start scrubbing. Boom $0.30 for materials.
ОтветитьWater and tin foil first to remove all rust and then polish.
ОтветитьWill I be able to use this sane process on my chrome rims. I bought a used car with similar looks on the rust and pitting. Does the polish count as clear coat in this scenario?
ОтветитьMothers is commercial crap. Simichrome Polish works very well. You do not need 5 different products to achieve results. Thank you for video
ОтветитьNice. 👍 Aluminum foil, cola or fanta - the best inexpensive solution.
ОтветитьIf i have a piece that large to polish with harsh complication/contamination I would try what you just did (Maybe with Brasso + Flitz) then if that does not work, ill move to a bench grinder/polisher and go through grits... It is a messy process though and will need a safety respirator etc.
ОтветитьAre you going to ride it off a garage roof in a diaper later?
ОтветитьFantastic
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid, Mark, a guy that worked for my dad had a newish '68 Royal Infield that had a slightly rusted chrome tank. I took some sandpaper and cleaned it up. I was so proud of myself and couldn't wait until he got home. He didn't say too much but years later he told me he wanted to kick my ass, but I was the bosses son. 😅
ОтветитьYou won't be using that mudguard for a resto with the large split that's in it.
ОтветитьAn acidic rust dissolver and a neutralizer can remove the rust without a risk of swirling. After that regular polishing does wonders.
ОтветитьSHY-NEE!
ОтветитьI know this is a old video, but thank you for the information. I've got a 76 kawasaki with some chrome front and rear fenders and I honestly thought they were junk. But they are not even as bad as this one, so guess I'll get them looking new!
ОтветитьMe again.
Use the kitchen foil instead of the steel wool'
Me again.
DOH!
Use the kitchen foil instead of the steel wool'
It's me again.
I forgot about the Turtle wax.
Try 'Pledge' furniture polish.
Once again, it works.
Hi there.
We have two products in England called 'Brasso' and 'Duraglit' which I've been using on chrome for at least the last 40 years. Exactly the same as the two products you are using. Not sure about the present price but sure to be on the net somewhere.
Another good method which doesn't scratch the chrome is a screwed up bunch of kitchen foil dipped in water. Obviously being aluminium it doesn't scratch.
Try it.
It works.
Restoring a rusty chrome surface is impossible. Where there is rust, there is no chrome and polishing is useless.
Best way is to resurface it.
Also you need to remove those dents.
What an amazing transformation -- congratulations and thanks for the tutorial !!!
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьgreat work Wow!
ОтветитьChromium is a metal that does not rust.
Its the lack of chrome that lets the steel underneath rust.
People use metal polish and that just takes the very thin plating off.
Waxing when new is way better
When chrome was backed by brass and nickel plating it was extremely durable.
Once they started plating straight to the steel was when the problems started.
I thought you were crazy to even attempt cleaning that up. WOW! I was wrong! Great job bud. Amazing rezultz! Nothing to do about that rip in the fender is there?
