I feel you on the pile of shame. I have a stack of ARCs to catch up on as well. I'm slowly working my way through some of them, but I really need to prioritize it more.
ОтветитьOlive I enjoy how your reviews are so insightful and honest, and you always seems so upbeat. Like you, Rules of Civility is one of my all time favorite books to reread (though the audio version was disappointing.) and I just finished Table for Two. I thought your review was spot on. Though overall I liked the story of Eve in Hollywood, it did seem misplaced since it wasn’t really a short story and it didn’t take place in NY. Nevertheless, Amor is such an amazing writer who can transport you to another time and place with interesting characters and situations the whole book is definitely worth reading. Thanks again for all the time to take to create this informative and engaging channel for us book readers.
ОтветитьThree apples....what a book !!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьExcited to have just found your channel. Your content is very interesting to listen to and your suggestions are unique and fun. Already added a lot of new titles to my TBR list.
Here are a few of the books I borrowed from the library and will most likely be reading in April: Seven Days in July, The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store, Project Hail Mary, Yellowface and The Bandit Queens. I'm about a third in Detransition, Baby but I'm not progressing on it as fast as I would like to.

ОтветитьI have quite literally just finished reading Stork Mountain! Will be eagerly anticipating your thoughts on it 😁
ОтветитьI always admire how close you stick to your monthly TBR. I am such a mood reader and this is a challenge for me.
ОтветитьInfused sounds delightful! Tea and travel writing…perfect combo!
ОтветитьYou always find so many titles I've not heard of. Thank you so much for sharing! I've got Tinker Creek on my list, too.
ОтветитьI wasn't crazy about a Well Behaved Woman. I've read better books about the Vanderbilts.
ОтветитьLiked and subbed TY!
ОтветитьThank you so much for this post. My daughter and I are book lovers and Barnes is our go to place. We agree, it is a reverential experience! We are also thrilled to know that the future is bright for Barnes and, as a result, for all book lovers. We cried and still feel the pain of the loss of Borders. So glad that the prediction of brick and mortar demise, as a result of a giant like Amazon, will not occur. Thank you, Olive and thank you, James. 😊
ОтветитьI enjoy Tea as well so am really curious about Infused: Adventures In Tea . I may read it alongside Death By Darjeeling by Laura Childs. I would like to hopefully get to Cacophony of Bone by Kerri Ni Dochartaigh, Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange, Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty by Patrick Radden Keefe, The Purloined Poodle by Kevin Hearne, Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez and The House on Biscayne Bay by Chanel Cleeton. I have so many more books I hope to get to but will see how the month goes. Hope you have a great reading month!
ОтветитьAnnie Dillard actually wrote the book that won her the Pulitzer Prize in a small neighborhood in Roanoke, Virginia across from Hollins University, where she had attended and her husband was a professor. When I read the book decades ago I pictured her in the wilds of Appalachia. But Tinker Creek runs thru the subdivision, right past her house. I have a friend who was their neighbor and I, too, used to live in Roanoke. Makes it all the more amazing to read how she was able to explore and concentrate on the flora and fauna she found in and around the creek, and shows us exactly how to do the same thing: to find nature right where you are.
ОтветитьI have the Sisterhood on my TBR so I look forward to your review - happy Spring reading! 😊
Ответить@abookolive Birding to Change the World by Trish O’Kane, would love your review!
ОтветитьGood luck with Table for Two! I've been curious about Moneyball since the movie so I'll be curious to hear your thoughts. I'm excited to read this month Yellowface by RF Kuang.
ОтветитьI would like to be reading Table for Two this month but since I’m 44 on the hold list, it’s probably a summer read for me!
ОтветитьI gleaned three books to put on my TBR…thank you.
Ответитьdo you have a gumby?
ОтветитьI loved the movie Moneyball.
ОтветитьInfused has me Intrigued 😊☕️
ОтветитьHope Table for Two is everything you hope for!!
ОтветитьLove birds that baby bird book looks good.
ОтветитьThe beginning of April will have me working on Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan and Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg.
ОтветитьI noticed that Steve Donoghue in his booktube videos doesn't yet have any links to his on-air makeup scheme.
ОтветитьDid you read Anderson Cooper's book about the Vanderbilts? It is really fascinating, and it's well researched. (He wrote it for his kids so they could know their Grandmother and her side of the family.) Worth a read.
ОтветитьI read Infused in 2020. Definitely memorable read
ОтветитьI've never read Rules of Civility so plan to read it before reading Towles' new book. Loose of Earth sounds good. Also I want to read Anna Karenina. I've given myself the challenge to read one classic a month this year.
You might like "Spark Birds" from Orion Press, an anthology of poems and essays about birds. As an artist and bird watcher "Baby Birds" looks intriguing.
Great list! I plan to read through the Women’s Prize Shortlist, along with James and a few other fiction books.

Waiting for your review of Table For Two. Thanks!🙂
ОтветитьI tried to read that novella through the library years ago but it got pulled (ecopies) before my hold came through! I’m excited for your review. I read both Rules of Civility and Gentleman in Moscow years ago and enjoyed them.
My April TBR so far is a continuation of my March TBR, with some scifi (the Best of all Possible Worlds, Chimera) and some tbd nonfiction
As soon as I heard Table for Two was being released I thought of you! I haven’t read Rules of Civility yet. I absolutely LOVED A Gentleman in Moscow. I will re reading it soon, as I want to read Table for Two before the year is over.
ОтветитьI'm almost done with Gracie Gold's memoir about eating disorders in figure skating. It's intense.
Ответить"Loose of Earth" looks good. I've read "Jesus Land".
ОтветитьSeeing Amor towles in person in Nashville April 3
ОтветитьHow can I send you my latest book? It's titled: "How To Dump A Body At Sea &Not Get Caught -- the Al Ferrari Story."
ОтветитьCurrently rereading Pilgrim at Tinker Creek! And fed Infused to my TBR
ОтветитьI’m anxiously waiting for Table for Two also. I adore Amor Towles. I’ve got A Well Behaved Woman on my tbr wish list. 💕 some of these ARC’s sound very interesting and I’ll be excited to hear your thoughts on them. I read Pilgrim at Tinker Creek in February and enjoyed it.
ОтветитьIm reading a balanced life by candace cameran bure
Next will be in a sunburned country by bill bryson i found at a little free library. We have 14 little free libraries in my town of 60k😊📚📚📚📚📖
Can't wait to hear your review of Table for Two. I LOVED Rules of Civility but disliked Gentleman. Will rely on your review before picking up Table for Two. I desperately want to go back to the Rules of Civility universe but my relationship with Amor Towles is very uneven.
ОтветитьHey 😊 I love your book videos ❤ I can’t wait for your thoughts on Angela’s ashes 😃
