I actaully think the start of the films wluld be a bit higher frame rate to the radius of the film would be bigger but the rotation speed is the same hence makes the film player quicker on the outer edges

I believe a lot of people who say they want higher frame rates don't even realize that modern movies are still at 24 fps while old games were already at 60 fps.
I mean that's the thing: higher framerates are important for gaming, but they're not a new thing. Tekken playing at 60 fps was a selling point of the game over Virtua Fighter... and mind you I'm talking about Tekken 1 from 1994!

144Hz is where it's at. Very few cases where you'd want to go higher and for lower stuff you can repeat frames.

It says in my screen (right click "stats for nerds") that the whole video is being shown at 30fps though despite what CD claims in the video.

go play any fast pace game at 48 fps versus 60fps and will feel the difrence , plus a person not moving very much is a bad exemple for this change

I will always prefer 24fps for animations, but 60fps for regular videos is the best.

With a 120hz monitor, the 60 and 48 difference is a bit noticeable

I did notice the stuttering between 48 and 60 but just assumed it was a glitch or something until he said it was intentional

I prefer 24 fps for any motion picture. I was watching Toy Story as a demo on the big TVs for sale at Costco and they were running the movie through something that bumped it up to a higher fps and it moved uncannily realistically, but I didn't like that look. There is something dream-like about motion pictures run at 24 fps.

am i spoiled for noticing the switch between 48 and 60 fps before the pointed it out?

I have to be actively looking in order to tell if it’s 48 or 60. But I can definitely tell the difference between 30 and 60

Frame rate is nothing. If you look at one image in 24 fps and the same image in 60 fps they look exactly the same!

It's a lot easier to tell the difference between framerates if you are looking for it.

So yeah it doesn't matter at higher framerates in random videos, but that's a bit different than 'nobody can tell'.

The illusion of movement still kinda works even at like 3 fps so that should be the new standard.

I think it would have been a lot more noticable if the camera was moving a lot along with the captain himself doing some action-y stuff.

Of course not many would notice the difference between 48 and 60 fps of a guy moving his hands a bit.

Meanwhile Minecraft players spending $1000’s to get 500 fps

I watch this video every time it gets to my recommendations (about 8) and everytime I try to see if I can spot the jumping from 48 to 60, he's right

I know this video is three years old, but I don't think I've ever heard anybody mention "The Adventures of Pete and Pete" outside of any context relating to old Nickelodeon shows

This is a case of fame going to somebody's head. We all got him to where he is and now he won't even do videos without having to pay for them. I know what the D stands for in Captain D. Not disillusion.

As long as you don't get ghosting I'm ok with more hz like 120

I can tell when 48 and 60 FPS is being jumped to constantly. But if you kept it solid it would stop becoming a problem and just fall to the back of the mind. This is no doubt only because I play games on PC and are more sensitive to it
