The T-34's sloped armor was an innovation designed and developed by American automotive engineer J. Walter Christie and the T-34's suspension system was invented and developed by J. Walter Christie too.

Ironically, the U.S. War Department was not interested in Christie's inventions, innovations, and designs when he proposed them for use by the U.S. armed forces.

But the Soviets knew a good, practical idea and development when they saw one.

The T-34 and the T-34/85 tanks were tactically far superior to the M4 Sherman in all its variants.

"First vehicle to ever have sloped armor". How can someone say something THAT false with such confidence -_- Even WW1 tanks were designed with armor slope in mind .....

The cannon was powerful... But extremely slow and not precise.

"The T-34 kept in total secrecy" - plain lie from Guderian and the likes, in order to help these guys justify their failure. It has become a trope but got debunked a couple of decades ago by Historical research. The T-34 was on the front from day 1, and got wiped out like the others. The problem was tactics, training, logistics etc.

No radio in t-34, and commander was almost blind= could not see anything from the commander's coupola. And at last, the tank commander was overworked.

Just as Stalin crushed fascism and reached the Reichstag, Putin will crush fascism in Kiev and criminal NATO..

This documentary is misleading and full with information which is either misleading or simply not true

Everything for the front. Everything for the victory. My father was 3 years old. My aunt was 5. My grandmother worked at hot steel shop. They were evacuated from Leningrad in winter of 1942. My granddad was in divisional reconnaissance. You have no idea who we are.

Many opinions. Only one matters - the Germans have no complains about T-34. Soldiers, officers, generals said the same - T-34 was one of the main factors of Soviet victory.

The t34 had quite a lot of problem 1 in soviet union gear shifts you yes tankers did carry hammers its not a myth

2 it had great gunners optics but terrible view ports for the driver and commandeer

3 whilst most allied countrys including the germans heated their steel to 300 c the Russians were doing theirs to 600 c which made the steel very brital and would form craks if shoot

Dear lord they didn't do research the t34 was the back bone but lend leased tanks and equipment was the reason why Russia made it so far and won also the t34 had absolutely horrible armor the major upgrades came after the war but its often believed I would say the best tank of ww2 well for its battle field the north African campaign the crusader tank carriered the British its known for its infantry support and ww2 was a infantry war and it can destroy infantry with its flak gun it was also not prone to explosions the t34 was bad it could take ten to take one panzer because poor armor weapons and welding the war in the east was infantry and air for most of the major battles

Never thought they'd lose the war? Really? Is that why up until 1943 they hoped Germans would seek ceasefire?? And according to historians, Russians would have agreed. It was only Germans that knew the war was lost after Stalingrad, Russians were still fighting a losing war in their minds.

This is such nonsense. They never thought they'd lose. Is that why Stalin had a train ready to run away east before changing his mind and staying in Moscow?

The Russians always manage to go simple but effective.....they did that in space as well......Mostly because they had to....They did not have the money.

Stalin wasn’t that bad as many made it up to be.

One of my all time favorite tanks, the Russians biggest mistakes is to change the platform T55 through the T90 design has major flaws and armor is not as reliable as the T34.

I would choose a T 34 of any tank in WW2. Fast, simple mechanics, easy to fix and reliable.

Stalin said of the T34, "quantity has a quality all its of own".

If by "successful" you mean, throwing so many tanks at the enemy that they ran out of ammo to destroy them with, then I think this tank was definitely a "success" .....

Soviet Russian t-34 tank su-85 su100 su122 t3485 t70s t80 t60s had a major flaw Russians always brag about their tanks being the best in world war II but they are so wrong and full of themselves this is why on these type of tanks and tank destroyers your frontal armor had a giant driver hatch which made it great Target for German high velocity guns all you had to do is shoot that driver hatch and then Russian tanks would go up and a ball of flame so this means that Russian tanks and tank destroyers had a very hard time taking on German tanks and tank destroyers front or on because of this major weakness and major flaw German soldiers would just have to aim for the driver hatch and her Pierce right through that armor and the Russians would go in the in flames...

Even in war thunder when I attacked a Russian tank t-34 with my panzer 3. I can feel the pain of the German crew.
