Hey everyone, we want to let you know that we appreciate your support and the feedback on this video. We read all of your comments and take them to heart and will strive to do better in the future.
Ответитьwhen I was 7 in the mid 90sh I would refuse to play a game without my ascii arcade stick for my ps1, I remember being so amazed that I can play all my favorite games like in my town's local arcade, playing 2d platformers, shot em ups, 3d platformers, party games, and fighting games where my go to games at that age as I was usually to young for any other game (I used that weird Namco controller for racing games and had a light gun for light gun games, I was a spoiled little shit thanks for my dad being a hardcore gamer at that time lol)
Ответитьi remember playing yi ar kung fu on a arcade collection game on gba, it was the only game i would play on it and i would often revisit the singleplayer mode, and play the incredibly unbalanced multiplayer mode with my brother and a link cable
ОтветитьThe idea of putting 6 fingers in 2 rows of 3 makes no sense when humans have 5 fingers. Put 5 in an arc and then put the 6th button under the palm. Doesn't make sense to move a finger to a button when that finger was over another button, the thing pushing the button should always be over it.
ОтветитьGreat video well informational keep it up hitboxes trash well cheap stick or pad baby!!!
ОтветитьThat SE fight stick being shown instead of the TE... The only the the SE was good for was for the case. The lever and buttons were garbage.
ОтветитьWhen talking about the MadCatz TE, you keep showing the SE (horrible) version. Should change that.
ОтветитьLook at this picture. Even though I know it's just a symbol and not indicitive of any actual joystick, notice this video uses a right handed stick as the symbol in between the generic arcade machine and the generic hone console.
Proof from this very video.
- Street Fighter's motion inputs were just an easter-egg for highly skilled players
- Street Fighter's 6 button layout was an after-thought after their experiment with pressure-based buttons failed
- Street Fighter 2's combo mechanic was the result of a bug that the dev's thought was funny
It almost feels like the Fighting Game genre was entirely built of accidents
I love this Time Travel , thank you , but iam a little disapointed that there was no Killer Instinct in this docu. ; (
ОтветитьNice video.
Ответитьthe "FIghtstick" is a marketing term invented by MadCatz in 2009! I really wish people would stop calling arcade sticks "fightsticks." It's so, so stupid. Arcades play more than fighting games.
ОтветитьThe hitbox is literally just what every mechanical keyboard player knows for years.
I'm still interested in a stick since the haptic and feeling and fun is something else.
are we calling SFV a classic now? Lol
ОтветитьWent to look up how the MAS makers were doing. RIP :(
ОтветитьI think only Street Fighter uses 6 buttons, other fighting games uses only 4 button. MK is also an exception as there is separate button for block and Amp
ОтветитьCrazy how there were more Pad and Hitbox players than Stick players in the Evo top 8s this year
ОтветитьLove these videos I'm pretty sure I've watched all of them three times already
ОтветитьOHHHHHHH!!!!!! MAS Sticks aren't Dead. Scanline City has brought them back!
I myself bought a case, as it's what they are currently selling, and I also use a Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Arcade Stick for Xbox and PC.
as a fight stick fancier, i very much love seeing this kind of content. The ps3 and ps4 fight stick were just built differently compared to ps4 sticks. way way more durable
ОтветитьOk now i'm calling my d the fightstick
ОтветитьThis dude sounds like Sakurai’s English voice dub explaining the history of a character during a Smash Bros. Presentation 😂😂😂
ОтветитьIdc if it's already been mentioned 100 times you talked about the TE1 while showing the SE the whole time. You even mentioned having high quality sanwa parts and that's not something the SE had.
Source: I own one.
Need shooting games to be included. Shmups were a definite highlight in the arcade era, thus had an important impact on the design of the arcade stick. Regardless, a very good video. Many thanks for your passion, time and effort.
ОтветитьGreat video! I‘m happy I clicked.
ОтветитьNo this is way too uncomfortable I would never play with one of those disgraces to humanity
ОтветитьI had a MAS Stick
ОтветитьI hated fight sticks and fighting games in arcades. I preferred home controllers. I smashed everyone I played against who had fight sticks
ОтветитьCheck out my Turrican Fightstick in my profile!
ОтветитьI grew up in the same area and made Joysticks for people at the same time at MAS. That said His quality blew me out of the water
ОтветитьThe deluxe 87 Street Fighter had 2 large Pressure Sensitive Buttons instead of the 6 Buttons before being abandoned for the 6 buttons that the standard cab had because of how easily they broke
Ответитьit's a joystick!
ОтветитьI am a big fan of your videos, is there a possibility that you allow me to dub your videos into Spanish in order to reach a larger audience, always giving the source of origin?
ОтветитьIf I had the choice of Joysticks it would always be MAS.....their perfect in my opinion. No way I would choose Madcats over MAS Joysticks. Oh by the way " D-pad and HITBOX" are for beginners and should never be allowed in Fighting game tournaments due their nature of skipping motion. Steering wheel vs D-pad.....you get the picture.
ОтветитьI mainly have a fight stick for 6 button fighters, since using triggers and regular buttons for the same game just feels weird to me.
ОтветитьAt 10:xx, thats not a TE.. it is SE
ОтветитьWhere are the left handed arcade sticks?
ОтветитьGonna be honest, I think calling them "fightsticks" does a huge disservice to the actual arcade industry. Their name is arcade stick. And now it's increasingly more difficult to buy them, it's basically just Qanba and Hori...
ОтветитьThere’s something else you forgot to mention. Japanese players like to kinda grip the ball underhanded. Like the palm of the hand is facing upwards. You can’t do this with an American/Korean style joystick.
ОтветитьAmazing video!!
ОтветитьThe hell was wrong with just calling it an arcade stick? Not all arcade games that had joysticks were fighting games, and "fightstick" is Mad Catz's brand of home arcade joystick controllers.
