I went through 2nd ITR at Camp San Onofre at Camp Pendleton in 1961. It was fun.
ОтветитьThis takes me back
ОтветитьHoly shit the ARMYS' infantry school down on Ft Benning has a lot to improve our infantry training wasn't nearly as in depth as this looks here
ОтветитьDon't know if I wanna do marine infantry or army 18x (speacial forces canidate) preferably would like to try and stay in 20 years
ОтветитьI went through MCT, wasn't the hardest, but watching the ITB (infantry) Marines go through their training was wild... and then there was Recon.. Different breed
ОтветитьInfantry Training Regiment "Double timing Delta" Company 1978 0311 Semper Fi
ОтветитьWhat would make this better Fighting in the desert Because that's basically what you're 99% when you're going to get deployed
ОтветитьIt was tough in 1988, especially when you were 6’0-131lbs.
Ответитьngl those mountains on Pendleton were pretty brutal
ОтветитьThe freaking FLEET was really hard, 30 miles humps...etc
ОтветитьThis is crazy!!! I clearly remember going through Alphatraz @ Camp Geiger back in 2004!!! So much has changed since then. I went on to serve 2 tours in Iraq with 2/6 Golf Co. 0311 for life!!!! RAH!!!!!!!
ОтветитьIt's only hard if people aren't carrying their weight.
-former 3051
It's only hard if you've been there and done it!
Is it only 03's that do soi?
Not hard lol
ОтветитьBeen there, done that and got a lousy shirt. Not hard, not easy just skill learning, weapon tactics and carrying your shit around. Semper fi gents.
ОтветитьNot that hard. I graduated 2nd out of my class. When the bar is low it’s easy to achieve. Ha!
I’m guessing only Marines will laugh at this comment. Semper Fi Devildogs!
I remember in 2014 I passed tf out while taking the first exam and failed miserably lol cause trust me those bungalows will make you so sleepy, also if your family is not going to be going on libo, just go to dominoes then go to your rack and beat your meat while everyone is away.
ОтветитьLet’s see what f the leftists destroy the military?
ОтветитьRobertos burritos saved me in ITB
ОтветитьITS camp San onofre calif aug-Oct 1985 Hollywood mount mo fo oorraahh
ОтветитьThe training drives me crazy, so proud of you guys & much love
ОтветитьI had the misfortune of going to both SOI east, and west. Well, that's what happens when you get out for a year and change your MOS 🤦🏽♂️
ОтветитьLots of soft covers and sounds like less miles on the LPCs.....leather personal carriers
ОтветитьCurrently in holding for itb. Doing some new 18 week commando program tho called imc. Fuckin thanks marine corps.
ОтветитьNot hard. Everyone passes unless they don't.
ОтветитьYes
Semper Fi Brothers
So much better preparation for today's warfighters then a few weeks at the then Infantry Training Regiment [ITR] at Camp Geiger in 1965. Just very basic combat skills.
ОтветитьMotivating. Makes one want to do it all over again. Golly.. how did I get so old?
ОтветитьTheir reputation always precedes them..
ОтветитьI lived in Okinawa Japan.
It was like a planet of marines.
Sleep deprivation was probably the hardest part of SOI. Sleep deprivation messed up my immune system and my brain. I was on camp guard before SOI started. I had a guard rotation every few hours, every day, for almost six weeks. We would break into places on base to sleep during our roving tours. Abandon quonset huts kept us going. I remember getting so tired that I would hallucinate. SOI taught me to keep moving, dont think, just keep going. Sleep when you die.
ОтветитьNot American, but I worked with some marines in RIMPAC 2018. U guys r awesome... I still remember when my leadership fucked me off. U guys brought me a burger king. I will never forget it. Marine Infantrymen r hard as fuck.
ОтветитьJust graduated from geiger, itb. Some fun stuff
ОтветитьIs SOI hard? 🤔 It’s hard when you’re there! 🤣
USCM 0311 ‘98-‘02
You can not possibly combine 5 mos into 1 and expect these guys to be proficient. Will you do away with weapons company? What about promotions?
ОтветитьCan you do an Airforce video?
ОтветитьAlready faked! Nor is it, MARINES or ARMY! You used, modern- ss waffen uniforms? coffee = Dutch,
officer companies of: waffen.
IMC up next Alpha Company
So fuck me right
This song is sick af
ОтветитьIt’s sooo harddd
ОтветитьThat kind of looks like "paint ball city" near the Prado Dam.
ОтветитьWomen serving the infantry now and they're non-deployable. They take away from the readiness of the unit.
Transgenders now serve in the military they have their generals ripped off what the fuck.
And now we have co-ed training at San Diego. MCRD.
THE MARINE CORPS THAT I WAS DISCHARGED FROM 29 YEARS AGO IS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU'RE SERVING IN. YOU BETTER CORRECT THE POLITICIANS AND CHECK THEM HARD BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE A MARINE CORPS.
Semper Fi
It’s not hard. Neither is Army Infantry AIT. I mean, girls do both of them. And Ranger school. Only truly hard military training these days is CAG (Delta) training, MARSOC training, and DevGru training.
ОтветитьI went to Camp Geiger. It may be flat but it's no piece of cake! And the mosquitos are hell.
ОтветитьWhat's with the state flags towards the end?
ОтветитьIt was pretty easy tbh just don’t be a dumb fuck and try your best. The real training and learning happens in your unit because every MEU and victor unit has their own operational procedures and way of doing shit. So most of soi training gets relearned or goes out the window. And know they are doing 6 months instead of 3 months and knowledge is getting shoved down guys throats. Because there will no specialized MOS and they expect everyone to learn every weapon system and cross train every job. It’s kinda dumb because there is lots of stupid people who can’t cross train and remember everything from multiple jobs. They are trying to turn into a jack off all trades but I don’t think it will work out very well. PS. If you wanna do some cool shit go recon instead and don’t hate your life cutting grass with scissors, Do something better.
ОтветитьI'm interested in seeing the changes IMC is going to make for the Corps. Some of the footage I've seen makes sense, especially Week 10's Infantry Physical Assessment, but here's hoping it makes us better. Furthermore, now that grunts are getting a new entry level training curriculum (because of increased demands), I think the POG's should get an extended version of MCT. At least give them the old ITB, otherwise the skill gap is going to be too great for non-03's to cover down on provisional rifleman duties when needed.
ОтветитьNot that hard honestly
