There will never be a high-speed passenger rail system in Canada for a minimum of another 40 years. $120 billion will be moved around on the globalist markets and banks and eventually land will be expropriated, possibly cleared with light infrastructure put in-place then all left to rot. Much like the fake Electric Vehicle battery plants going-up everywhere. High-speed rail will be just an expensive and delayed construction project. How about regular VIA Rail trains that go 120kmh, with more stops, more cities and towns and better on-board services. Give them the rail right-of-way over freight, and there will never be a problem with late trains again.
ОтветитьI am 40 years old. I don't think this high-speed rail line can complete before I retire at 65.
ОтветитьOut west we would just be happy with SLOW speed rail, on Vancouver Island, Whistler, Fraser Valley, and the Coast to Calgary, but hey we don't speak Quebecois or live in the centre of the universe AKA Toronto. We don't count and just pay high taxes so Ottawa can splash it around back east.
ОтветитьHas anyone seen an estimate of the number of jobs that will be developed by the project, the amount of steel used, or the estimate of related jobs, after completion, to businesses of all types?
ОтветитьBelt Road Initiative? 🎉
ОтветитьGo team Canada
ОтветитьBy the time this becomes operational, we WILL have flying cars/drones.
I think diverting that money for building eastern Canada oil pipe line, would be much more cheaper and economically viable option.
Need HSR Throughout Canada. Not just the Windsor- Quebec City Corridor.
They need allocate money to segregate passenger and freight rail throughout Canada
It's another economic Liberal blackhole to bankrupt the country !!!! Canadians are gullible and easily manipulated by these clowns !!!! It'll cost 450 billion !!!!
Ответить"...revolutionize Canadian society from Quebec to Toronto.."😂😂😂 What a total crap your comments
ОтветитьTMX is already fully operational
ОтветитьYou will never recoup the 100 billion dollars spent on building this train.
ОтветитьI am a Canadian and that will take 100 + years to complete. They take almost 1 and half year to make The 18-kilometre Hazel McCallion Line. This is NONSENSE. iT WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2125
ОтветитьBeen waiting since the 1980's.. A day in Canada can mean years.. Will die of old age..Have to move to China to see progress with what life I have left.
ОтветитьThe most important question is, for what? Who really will use it daily? No one will drive to work 3-2 hours one way.
In what period of time it will justify the investment? Probably never.
Canadian population is too small, that’s why most of its trains abandoned in last few decades.
The Canadian system keeps looking for shortcuts and pays the heaviest price for it. had the project to develop dedicated tracks for Turbotrains been initiated this thing wouldn't have had been so complicated. Instead, today they have to spend 5% of the economy for the same thing. You have oil today so you can afford to spend money on such projects today, hence do it before the oil runs out.
Ответить100B from Toronto to Quebec City ONLY? There is not enough passengers to support the maintenance of this project. God help the taxpayers
Ответить3 quotes from 3 capable companies (worldwide) world be the responsible way to govern.
Ответить100 billion is a huge price tag, how will they pay for this?
ОтветитьThat line is useless. East to west would make more sense , cross more of the country and take a straight path. The turns mean you have to slow down. Adding stops too close means slowing down more.
ОтветитьExtend it to Windsor.
ОтветитьI did not know that US have high speed train. Only 3 countries in the G-7 have high speed trains.
ОтветитьWhat a waste of money. We don't have the population density for this. On top of that there are only TWO high speed rail lines in the entire world that actually make a profit. This one is guaranteed to NOT be the third one.
ОтветитьSoooo you have a high speed train and set it on Via Rail freight tracks....makes sense, NOT. I really wish they would get on with these projects. I would much rather take a train and have a nap then spend 5hrs behind the wheel because a return flight is $600 to the nearest city although I'm sure they will not consider us out here in Northern Alberta
ОтветитьThis is all BS. The Gov't already has a report that says it can't be done. They have known this for years. Trudeau just made the announcement for his ego and to give money to his buddies at the New SNC lavalin. More lib money laundering
Ответитьand the price of one way ticket will be 5000$ if not more based on 20 million passenger per year for ten years and 0$ to operate it, so more like 10K$ per ticket
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьStopping at Toronto is short sighted. Millions live west around Lake Canada. Hamilton, Peel, down to Windsor.
But think of all the Canadian jobs and use of our own steel and technology.
Hmm I love trains and was excited when the liberals promised it the first time 10 years ago but now after watching us struggle to buld a 50km light rail in Toronto, I have no illusion this will be done in my lifetime
ОтветитьWhat a frivolous waste of billions of dollars. Could you please fix our roads instead?!
ОтветитьIn Spain 3700 km of High Speed Train cost 57 Billion of Euros (82 Billion Canadian Dollar)
ОтветитьI’ll believe it when I see it. I’ll probably be dead or close to it if it does get done. Knowing the corruption in Quebec and probably Canada it will cost a ridiculous amount of over charges.
ОтветитьNever wanted to buy a car. I wish TTC trains were better like New Delhi.
ОтветитьMoney into politicians bank account. That's why Canadian taxpayers are the last one getting the high-speed 🚂 🚂 🚂 😥💔😥 🤔🤔🤔
ОтветитьAll good for Ontario and Quebec what is the feds going to do for BC and Alberta or the territories.
ОтветитьHopefully this doesn't become the same cash cow like the long proposed, still-non-existent high-speed rail line in California that was supposed to connect L.A. with Las Vegas! Note: The original proposal was a high-speed train from L.A. to San Fransisco. Is was a decade old project that still is nowhere close to being finished. Some conspiricies seem to think it's more of a cash steal by politician in California from the people.
ОтветитьWith Canada's efficiency, I expect it to be finished in 2060 when the world has moved to maglev trains.
ОтветитьFirst, it is not a done deal, second, the new train set are rated to go 200 KMH. There is also an issue being brought up as to the route planned. It will mean having two sets of trains, one for the new route, and one for the current route which travels through Cobourg, Belleville, Brockville, Kingston, and Cornwall. There is also the waste of money for a high speed train between Montreal and Quebec City, to save 30 minutes. That is one very expensive 1/2 hour, beside the fact you have buses a lot more frequently than the train. The issue is CN owns the rails and does not upgrade them causing unnecessary delays.
ОтветитьYou know hes from Toronto by how he says "Turranna"
ОтветитьHow about one running across the country , to B.C. ...The very reason B.C. is part of Canada 🇨🇦
ОтветитьWhy fucking Fed govt doesn't so it from East coast to Vancouver people can travel 8000 KM on rail to visit each coast to coast everything is for East coast not thinking about all CanadianShame on Can govt Taliban is building for their people not us 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьI wonder how much he got for giving the contract to this company
He definitely got something
This is a great idea! Though I think building several conventional intercity railways in Canada instead of one high speed corridor will probably help out more people with less money. Regardless, investment into public transportation is sorely needed.
ОтветитьIs this a Trudeau moment to give out 3.5 billion to his friends in Cadence? What exactly are they planning they require 3.5 billion dollars? Until I die, I don't think I will see any HSR in Canada.
ОтветитьThe real question is with our $ 1.4 Trillion deficit and our need to re-arm quickly ,plus pipelines and other nation building projects, Do we need to do it now or when our economy can afford it as debt is reduced ?
Ответить100 thousand million dollars For a 800 km long track. I would love to see the breakdown of that ridiculous price. Who is pocketing that money? that's $125 million /kilometer. $125,000 per meter. We are talking about laying down railway tracks... old technology with little material cost. The real problem is people. NIMBY people, car people who don't like detours or slower traffic and who would never ever take a a train if they could drive, companied that are dead slow and then charge for delays... laziness...politicians looking to score points...all these things end up adding at least 10X to the cost of projects. I bet it will be double that $100 billion before it's finished.
