- Lost Ark was good despite being top-down, but you need to treat it like a second job with dailies and shit. no freedom.
- I would have given Core Punk a try, but the fact that you don't create your own character is a dealbreaker, and i'm really not a fan of top-down camera(wtf?).
- New World is nice and all, but melee combat is horrible, you move forward on rails with each swing and your character auto-turns to his sides to face enemies. big fail there.
- Blue Protocol looks promising, but the ranged classes have a lock-on option which always feels bad, and it is superior so everyone is forced to use it.
- AoC looks sick and everything about seems perfect, on paper.
- Pantheon also sounds amazing, but from the little i've seen from combat and animations it's not looking good.
- Ah yes, Camelot Unchained. I paid a symbolic 5$ to gain the privilege to READ the forums. Never got it. Too bad that Mark Jackob, such a talented designer, turned into a borderline scammer.
- Fractured... ffs, stop making top-down MMOs!
- Palia sounds cool, it will have its audience. I like the graphics style too.

Unless there are some major updates during alpha, I don't see Palia lasting to long for an "mmo". It has only 2 zones (if you don't count the tiny instanced housing plot). They aren't all that massive either. Aside from a very limited few recipes for cooking there is 0 reason to even interact with other players. Not a hype train I can get aboard. If you LOVE the game My Time At Portia, you might enjoy it. Seeing it is a damn near copy and paste of that game.

Lost Ark is certainly going to have a very competitive pay 2 win element =)

I understand good combat visualization, BUT all those lights are overwhelming, taking you out of immersion and out of the game!... I loved so much Requiem: Bloodymare back in the days!... ;(
Also weapons 3x size of your character do not help at all!..

The reason why everyone have high expectations for riot mmo despite not having even a name yet is cuz the world of ruinterra has been stablished for many years and has amazing lore,world,races and history so all that riot has to do is to create a good gameplay while other mmos are coming out of nowhere. U almost know nothing about their lores and world and etc

Mortal Online 2 has really improved since its launch. One of the most entertaining guilds in all of MMO spawned on it, Odinseed. A lot of them stream on twitch, nice funny fun-loving people trying to grow together.

who ever watched this in 2022 some comments and some games he showed its kind of irrelevant and false information not cz of the person doing the video but the games themselves got changed so much , for example project TL now its called throne and liberty : this game was suppose to be like lsot ark but they changed everything its looking more like black desert now and it went threw 12 years of hell development yes 12 years! and ashes of creation switched from unreal engine 4 to unreal engine 5 which will help the game progress much faster and the clips u see in this video have almost nothing to do with how gorgeous the game looks now its unreal for real. ( in my opinion ashes of creation might be one of the last mmo we gonna play for many of us if ur 30-40+ ). Again no hate towards the creator of this video and at the time he posted it everything is correct im just posting this even if 1 person out there doesnt know about those 2 games and especially ashes of creation oh boy the gamer the graphics and the features are everything an MMO needs , plus we have steven that he put his own millions into making the game so no greedy investors :D well gl hf everyone

Everything is trying hard to be grand, flashy, and overwhelmed with microtransactions. Simple will be desired soon and it will blow up whatever it might be.

Ashes of Creation is the mmorpg I am excited for the most. Looks so promising and intrepid appears to be very open about their progress in development! Can not wait to help test alpha 2 and the betas.... think it will be something special that lasts a good amount of time.

IMO talking about or even thinking about mmo games that haven't proven themselves is a waste of mental energy. You'd do better reporting on updates for established proven to be around for a while games.

Any time thinking about a game that doesn't last a month is a waste of your time and energy and at this point most of the new releases are half baked trash that aren't worth your time thinking about. Wait till a game proves itself with some decent game play at least before you waste time getting hype for anything anymore.

Think about how many games you reported on that never lasted a month and consider if that was wasted mental energy.

What a wasted potential of a genre this have been the last 10-15 years. It’s all theme parks, Asian F2P or failed kickstarters. Where’s the sandbox games by a good dev with a decent budget? It’s such an easy success too with how popular stuff like Minecraft and survival games is RN.

You don’t even have to do much or innovate even. A big, open, sandboxy fantasy world. Decent 2010-era AAA graphics. Some sort of polish. Decent net code. Boom. That’s it.

Also, devs need to get away from the notion that sandbox MMOs have to be “hardcore PvP games”. You could easily make a good one without any PVP at all, or have some sort of optional system like Ultima Online had back in the day. People don’t exactly play open world single player games like Elder Scrolls and Minecraft for the PVP duels, so why force it on people in sandbox MMOs? Most people just wanna chill out in an immersive fantasy world.

Its amazing to me how many eastern MMO's say F the west. Im sure the playerbase in not even comparable but theres a huge audience in the west for this stuff. No doubt doubling what the cost of sustaining servers would be.

As someone who has played Lost Ark for a while now, definitely give it a shot. Even if you are someone who dislikes top down camera angles, this game is just different, what this game is able to do because of that top down angle is absolutely stunning and unique. This game has literally everything I would want from an MMO. Amazingly fun PvP, super fun and challenging raids and some of the best class design I have ever seen in an MMO, literally every class is unique and fun. And what makes me truly love it, is that the devs are wonderful and actually really care about the game and the players. The game turned around from being a disaster to being the number 1 MMO in Korea. It has a very similar story to FFXIV and the director is often referred to as the Korean Yoshi-P.

They need to get back to the mmo without micro transactions. Back when you actually had to play for your shit.

Oh boy, more fantasy MMOs - fuck all for me to be hyped about, here. Is it too much to ask for a genuine Sci-fi MMORPG? I'd give both testes for a Mass Effect mmo, right about now.

MMOs have been so bad the last 15 years that we have actually convinced ourselves that we're having fun with an MMO when we quit after a few months. I get it, we all have lives to live now, but I still want to get sucked into a world as much as I have been sucked into Everquest and WoW when they first came out.

It sounds like you don't enjoy the content you are delivering. The tone of your voice drops at the tail of every sentence, as if you are bored and just trying to make it through the list of things you wrote down. With your tone and delivery, I find it hard to be interested in anything of these games.

Doesn't matter what's coming out.... They all go suck! Especially the free-to-play because those aren't even games, they're just "cash cow" machines. No one does anything different....they all just doing the same old "chit" over and over.

Guildwars 2 is the worst! The developers, their family and friend, all get special accounts (or debug mode) and they run around in "god mode" in PvP, blow everybody way! That's the reason I left the game...got tired of seeing "ArenaNet Babies" do full heals and take zero damage all while dealing 20k hits. Thieves with never ending visibility and killing out entire groups single handed! The last "ArenaNet Baby" I ran into, I kicked his @$$ down to about 10 percent health, then he went into "god mode." I could no long deal damage to him as he healed up (full heal in one instant cast) and took his sweet time hitting me with 10k hits like every 10 seconds, just to prolong the inevitable. He even stood there and let me hit him with everything for about 10 seconds...not a scratch! I said "phuk" this "chit!" I am not giving them my money and allow them to turn me into a rabbit just for their enjoyment!

Hell, one of them actually linked me an ability that I had also because we were the same class. The difference was, the "ArenaNet Baby's" ability dealt like 15k damage while the normal ability dealt less than 1k....they all had super characters! My Main Character was well gear and meta build so doing zero damage to any other player was like impossible! You can't play an MMORPG where the main cheaters are the ones providing the MMORPG. That's as "phuked" up as it gets!

At this moment I only have a ps4 maybe one day I’ll be able to play these but I’m not high tech with computers so I have no idea how I’d even go about getting the games or having the proper settings for them
