ОтветитьI baked them yesterday. Everyone loved them! Thanks again for this wonderful version of what we Czechs call Koláč. Pronounced as ko-la-ch. In plural, they are called Koláče. Ko-la-che.

ОтветитьCheese vatrushkas were always so popular when I was growing up in Ukraine. My grandma passed the recipe to my mom and mom to me. It’s been very popular for many many decades in my family. Now my kids enjoy them very often too. They love addition of blueberries as well 🥰

ОтветитьGood Day Chef 🇺🇦🧑🍳, I know I've mentioned before about growing up near a neighborhood in Brooklyn called Little Odessa. Well my friend you have brought me back there again. When I would go to my friends house who lived there I remember his grandmother making something we called "Special Donuts" . These yummy treats are them. I remember them being similar to a Cheese Danish but different. I was that 2nd grader at his friends house again. I just made a purple fig and strawberry sauce that I reduced to an apple butter texture. I'm going to try this recipe with some of that fruit spread. Of course I'll let you know how they turn out. ОтветитьYou put that boiling water and the dough into stainless steel bowls. Does the bowl not heat enough to melt the butter in the bowl? Just curious. I usually put boiling water into a container in an oven and put the dough into the oven.

Tatyana, this is a double wow!! I so appreciate you including these recipes from your home and childhood. My grandmother made something similar, but not as elaborate. I love blueberries and am always looking for a way to include more in our diet. I will definitely pass this one along to our daughter who's the pastry chef in our family.
