Randy I've ben looking online for two hours and feeling lost until I FINALLY found your channel, so thank you.
I have a not so great used turntable and have been listening with a Bluetooth speaker hooked up w/ a 3.5 mm cord into the speaker.
Needless to say it sounds hideous & there's terribly low volume.
My hope was that maybe I could find a speaker that didn't have bluetooth, and the small savings from not having the bluetooth could go into getting a better speaker.
Most of the videos I've seen have all been either using very high end speakers or bluetooth, and when they do a sound example it's always electronic techno and synthetic sound so it's impossible to discern what real instruments & real room sound would sound like on them.
My goal is to find a budget speaker that plays well with prog, early Roxy Music etc... vs woofy bass & high pitched stadium sounds:((
It was helpful that you mentioned Metallica because that tells me that more raucous records w/ distortion would sound good on them too.
I know to keep expectations low due to my budget, and I don't expect to hear air and small nuances, but I would like to just get something that would make those kind of records sound like themselves.
Do you know which of the speakers you suggested have an outlet to receive a 3.5 mm aux?
I'm happy to buy whichever you recommend via your link, but when I looked at them it wasn't clear to me if they do or don't have it (apologies, not much of a tech girl!)

Now the reason why I’m asking is because I am a totally blind person, so that is why I want to know so that when I’m hooking these things up I will know what to expect.

And to be honest with you, I would be using my other monitors that I have as mains if my home theater had two additional RCA ports for them but unfortunately it doesn’t so what I wanna know is what kind of port does the Polk audio T15’s have on the back? Is it a twist lock or is it a push button insertion for the wire?

OK, so I have the slightly older version of the Sony that you’re reviewing and I had some problems with how the Sony are hooked up for one thing. I do not like the twist lock port on the Sony because they are very hard to hook up and it is also hard to tell without removing the caps where the stop point is. Also secondly as far as endurance is concerned, I’ve had these speakers for about seven years give or take, and the small tweeter up top has completely gone out on the left side. I use the speakers just about every day so it is inevitable that the tweeter would eventually die. So I don’t know I’m looking for something that is going to have a balance, mid range and a good high-end. I don’t need a ton of base response however because I have a rocket 88 sub attached to my home theater system, which is a studio monitor sub, which gives the home theater system an additional punch there is a 14 inch woofer on that thing.

The Neumi speakers are unbelievably good and a sub isn't necessary for my bedroom setup... Paired them with my 70's Harmon Kardon 330c and I couldn't be happier for only $100 bucks. Without your channel I wouldn't have considered speakers under $250. Thanks for your reviews dude!!

The daytons price is for a pair not a single as the others. The Dayton Air T652 towers are less than $200 a pair and are ported.

Hi there. I am from Bengaluru, India. I follow your videos regularly. Can you comment on performance of Edifier r1280t. I have added a subwoofer again from Edifier t5 8 inch 70w for improving base. I like the over all sound. But somehow I think I am missing on upper mid range. I don't feel like I am drowning within the music with these set of speaker and subwoofer.

Problem with the Sony is if you actually put it on a bookshelf the bass port can get blocked because it faces to the back. Not to mention, it really is not under $100 bucks.

Could you use the Dayton Audio with a 100 watt receiver? I see they are rated for 40 watts. I think that might be too weak even for the tiny bedroom I would use them in.

Hi, thanks for the video. I have a "mini" Atmos system 5.1.2, a Bundle from Onkyo with enabled Atmos speakers and I'm interested in using height speakers for the Atmos, any of these could be used for that propose? If not what do you recommend for that price range?

Sterling Mx5 blacks are great for the price,A and B series electronics, they are super known for their sonic Accuracy in mics, I chose Sterling Mx5s, Over the Rockit 5 g4s, all day long. beautiful front baffle neodynium tweets,. a quad coil driver, but what you get vs, what your paying is insane (got mine on i think an accidental pricing of 89.00 a peice.
my favorite home speakers and they are audio file speakers for sure, I have the cheap ass Fischer 10'' Studio 'series' and even for back in the 70s they should how they were sonically very even from about 30 hz, to 20,khz best speakers that weren't monitors

Yup the Polks are… alas, shite. Veiled is indeed the word. unaccountably veiled- it doesn't make sense how bad they are I had some as an 'alternate listening position' set but have since replaced them with some 90's tannoy true coaxials that were inexplicably affordable and they are sublime (I already have the studio monitor versions) . Would love to hear the Sonys - not available here in Aotearoa / New Zealand, sadly

Can cheapaudioman or any of his followers recommend small speakers that have transparent, natural and non-fatiguing midrange and good imaging? A Quad ESL-57 in a box that I can use in the nearfield on my desktop? No need for extra high frequency detail or extension (don't care); I will have a pair of REL subwoofers for the bass and I more than happy to keep my head in a single, vise like "on axis" position - because that's what I have to all day anyway. Nice channel - just subscribed.

People sleep on Dayton audio because it's considered "budget".....it's cheap but most people will notice that's it's yards above standard box store offers.
