I have a theory as to why he couldn’t change the timeline. Although it assumes that Reverse Flash was the one who killed his mother.

You see, since Reverse Flash came from the future, he won’t exist if humanity doesn’t exist in the future. If Zod wins, all humans die. Reverse Flash is never born, and he will never kill Barry’s mother.

So in order for him to save his mother, Zod must win. But he doesn’t know this, so he keeps trying over and over to divide by zero.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I want to see in a superhero movie — the villain finally showed himself to give a long evil speech and then accidentally stabbed himself in a weak schoolyard fight that lasted 5 seconds.

Better than The Marvels

Even though the Dark Flash was barley in the movie, he seemed to be a better concept of time traveling hero becomes villain than Buzz Lightyear becoming Zurg.

But the Disney+ What If episode did it best of all.

If only Young Barry knew about kryptonite. He could've been done waaaaay sooner. Then again, imagine if his suit became entirely made of kryptonite when becoming the Dark Flash.

When you think about it more, Dark Flash’s suit is entirely made out of shrapnel. From the countless times he has relived the battle.

This cgi was something else

look at the lightning of an old Barry ! He is not just future Flash. He is from another timeline like the original Barry.

Miguel in the background saying I told you so. Flash broke the canon event of him losing a parental figure, and brining his mom back to life caused that universe to fall apart.

The animated movie flashpoint did it better.

I'd like to think that Barry did take out Zod a few times, but then some other random things happened to kill Kara.

Maybe in one timeline, Barry knocked Zod into his ship, but the force of the explosion killed Zod and Kara. In another, he gave Kara a victory hug and stabbed her with all that shrapnel. In another, they made it back to Batman's home but then Kara died of a heart attack. Just nonsense every time. Think of that Doctor Strange What If episode.

Not sure what all the praise here is about... if you're a true flash fan then this is nothing but underwhelming... a shitshow basically. Dark flash concept while it is cool, was executed absolutely horrendously. As a flash fan this movie was just pure let down of the character and his world. Like why... why not just have reverse flash as the real villain. Oh well anyway this universe is done so no point in worrying about it.

I found it so weird that in this Flash movie, we didn't get a single Flash enemy lmao. I would've been so hype to see Eorbard Thawne here.

Honestly, sounds like DC is gonna be back on top and its the MCU that is falling from grace this time!

All that shrapnel in his body, and not a single one has nicked an artery or limited his range of movement/ability to run?

Also, it's hard to root for a hero who's own stupidity is what's jeopardizing all of freakin' reality. No wonder this movie bombed.

I hope Dark Flash returns because he was a dope villain

This version of Dark Flash shares many similarities to Zurg from Pixar’s Lightyear; both characters are futuristic and villainous versions of the hero, and they both are obsessed with their own goals to the point where they don’t care who gets affected. Not to mention they both had great concepts that were not executed well.

Dark flash could literally just defeat zod by stabbing him and deactivate the world engines by using zods gauntlet like supergirl tried to. Christina hodson should never be allowed to write another dc movie again, especially one that has Batman.

Maybe the CGI was bad, but the movie as well was pretty good, I loved it

The more you think about the plot, the most stupid it becomes. Dark Flash is Young Barry from the future, which means that he can interact with other versions of himself that aren't from alternate timelines... So why can't he just raise an army of versions of himself to defeat the kryptonians. It's kinda like the time reminents from Arrowverse. You keep going back in time, gather multiple versions of yourself and repeat the process until the threat is dealt with.

isnt this the same twist as with Buzz and Zorg?

I'm sick of people saying this movie is bad, this scene was so creative, best depiction of the Multiverse ever, way better than that bagel crap in everything everywhere all at once

I like the idea that Dark Flash has such a difficult time defeating Zod and his men. Helps to show how impressive Superman is. He did it all on his one. 1 Kryptonian vs at least a dozen and he managed to defeat them all.

Whereas The Flash, despite being much faster, could not do it. Because Barry doesn’t have the other abilities that Superman has. Just imo.

The Flash is a great movie for me who hasn't watched the tv show but seen the animated movie. Social media really ruined it for everyone by crying about Erza Miller's crimes which were overblown by the media.
