Beautiful show...a great cast...and O'Connor...brilliant...
ОтветитьThat is so sad. 28 seems awfully young. What had she been dealing with. God bless!
ОтветитьHadn’t seen this in years…still gets me….
ОтветитьBoth my folks are 81. I am very fortunate to still have them both. This was television gold. Sure miss these shows that told good stories and actually made you feel something.
ОтветитьArchie was a dense son of a gun. I'm only 14, I'm just watching reruns. But this, this is better than anything film or cinema can make. This is acting, but it feels so damn genuine. Like they were recording someone's actual life. And this was the only time he had ever cried. He always was dense, saw everything through a comedic or bland lense, nothing could hurt big ol' tough Archie Bunker. But he really did love Edith. No matter how ya put it. He still tries to be funny even after his wife dies, presumably trying to cope. This was perfection.
Ответить😢😢😢
ОтветитьDeath is some real bullshit in this bullshit universe we all are forced into
Ответитьmy husband passed away last year, he was ill for a long time, I had to watch him take his last breath, and the words that Archie said hit home for me, I miss him every day
ОтветитьThis was particularly poignant because he addressed his verbally abusive behavior, and mourned the fact he couldn't sayhe loved Edith one last time.
ОтветитьSuch a 🧁 ❤️, that Edith..."OH ARCHIE!!!"
ОтветитьThis scene is raw and real. The most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen was my dad clutching my mom's bathrobe after her passing. He was so lost without her.
Ответить"You had no right to leave me that way, Edith...without giving me one more chance to say I love you!"😭
Ответить❤
ОтветитьI have been married to my wife 33 years , I really don't know what I would do with out her. I will be 61 yrs old next year so with being said married to the same woman half my life. This brought tears to my eyes Carrol never broke character , awesome actor.
ОтветитьI told my ex that I if I married her I wanted to pass before her. She asked me why and I showed her this. I could not bare the pain of creating a life with somebody and then after decades of them being there, they are gone in the blink of an eye.
ОтветитьI just lost my husband of 29 years three weeks ago today and this scene hits home so much. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. We were supposed to have more time together.
ОтветитьI lost my childhood sweetheart and wife of 23 years 5 years ago.... I so completely relate to this scene..
ОтветитьI always visit my mom and brother at the grave 🪦 when i can and 😢😭😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьGreat television
ОтветитьSorry for your loss brother...My mom passed few years ago to, before my dad. He couldn't function either, he wasn't very strong for his kids and grandchildren. Notice here how Archie was able to put aside his own grief to comfort his grandaughter....Thats a man who stepped up. Sorry for the loss of your mother, mom's are the best. It will get easier, and believe me you will feel her presence when you are at your lowest, she will be with you.
Ответитьlove this show since i was very small and i always will
ОтветитьHow one could watch this and not cry
ОтветитьSo sad the man had heart all the long
ОтветитьMy mom died recently and WOW that hurt! I'd castrate myself with a blow torch before going through that again! This hit my right in the feels, right on the second rib!
ОтветитьThank you Norman Lear. 1922-2023! (101) You're the King of Sitcoms.. Keep us updated on life in Heaven. Create In Peace!
ОтветитьThis is how losing someone you love really feels. It's a pain that never goes away just like the memories of that person. Poor Archie! 😭
ОтветитьWow. I never saw this episode
ОтветитьI cried like a baby when my wife died I didn't know something could hurt that bad😢 it's been 10 years and it still hurts
ОтветитьEdith dying was tantamount to everyone in America losing a family member. I remember seeing it on every magazine and tabloid cover for weeks. It was like Elvis died.
ОтветитьDamn I hate death. I have seen so much of it. Just me and my 84 year old sister remain. My family is almost gone.
ОтветитьMy grandparents were married for 55 years, wen my grandfather passed I was there at hospice and I remember my grandmother saying, "I wish you didnt have to go", that was 26 years ago and it still brings me to tears thinking about it.
Ответить..saw this scene for the first time December 2023. Growing up I watched the show, along with the other Norman Lear classics. Who didn't like or laugh at Edith Bunker's voice?? Loved the theme song, I never really knew how it ended on the show. I shed a tear or two while watching this scene.
ОтветитьThis scene still shatters me, after all these years.
ОтветитьBoy watching 👀 this all theses years later it still breaks my heart ❤️ this was one of the best scenes in TV history.
ОтветитьThis reminds me of my own parents. I lost my Mom in 1997. She apparently was the healthy and strong one and then she died. 55 years old. My Dad had everything wrong with him. He lived for a year and a half and decided he wanted to be with her and died in December of 1998. He was 60 :(
Ответитьi remember this well, i watched and cried just like i am now
ОтветитьEven though my wife passed away from stage four cancer 9 years ago she is alive in my heart and memories and even though I'm alive, in a way I died with her 🙏♥️🌹
ОтветитьI don't know how I'll survive if Julie dies before me.
I do know i will be dead soon after. A heart can be destroyed.
That's Archie. He has us crying through the scene and laughing at the end...😢😂
ОтветитьFake vid
ОтветитьMy wife's sister passed about four months ago, and her husband was devastated.
He followed her about five weeks later.
I bawled like a baby....I'd never seen these last sad episodes.....
ОтветитьThis reminds me of what Jimmy Carter must be going through right now.
ОтветитьThird time we have seen Archie cry.
ОтветитьNotice the darkness of the room? Matches the somber mood.
Ответить...👊😿🤘!!!
🇱🇷Tx.🌠2023.
I lost my husband three year ago I was supposed to go first .that's what I told my husband we were married 50 years I love this video
Ответить"Them people from Jersey is brutes..." I've remembered that line all these years later. The switch from Archie's pain to a moment of levity to end the scene is so well done and showcases what a fine actor Mr O'connor was.
ОтветитьI never saw this. Edith dies from what? Who is the child?
