I have a 2012 imac that had the same problem as in your video with the image of the folder with the question mark... I left it on for a while and now it stays on a black screen every time I turn it on, the fan spins but it doesn't do anything at all... would I have to look for a bin file on my board to modify it or just deleting the key like in your case could it work? thank you so much

nice. i used this tutorial for imac 2011 uefi firmware mods, but forgot to erase the chip first before writing back and verify failed because of it, so i was a bit stressed 😅

Not sure if its can work on windows 10 devices, but I keep getting a drive error with the CH341A Programmer application, then it says device state: NotConnected even the the device is infact being powered

I did everything the same, but it fails on the verify. I can't seem to get a good burn. Chip is a 25Q064A in a 2012 MBP 15". I've done half a dozen 13" models with no problem.

Worked on a Mac Mini 2012 but I had to find a Win 7 computer. The drivers would not work on Windows 11 despite supposedly being compatible with them. Also when writing the fixed firmware, the writing process was bumpy, stopping at certain percentages for a while then speeding through others. It took nearly 3 minutes to write but it stopped at 100% and didn't verify. Luckily, it still worked.

I used your guide on a 2011 27” iMac. Everything worked and the iMac is now fully working again. I did the programming on Windows 11 with updated drivers from GitHub. To select the correct chip, I took a picture of the chip and zoomed in - then it was easy to choose the correct model
