Sometimes his reviews really irritate me. Like the tailgate pull down strap. It wasn't put there for a 7 foot giant like Doug, but, a 5 nothing soccer mom would have benefited from it.
ОтветитьAll the complaints that are being made about the short version Tahoe, would lead someone to purchase a suburban, I thnk? Hello? I also used to think it would be just so right to own a Tahoe. WRONG. If you;re going to drive a full-size SUV, then make it either a Suburban, or the GMC Yukon XL. The added cargo is really the ticket. Need I say more? Come on, ppl. Listening to all of these complaints simply tells me that the Suburban is just the natural choice . Again, HELLO?
ОтветитьWhy is the y in hybrid lower cased?
Ответить13.25 Doug's Tahoedance???
ОтветитьClickbait! This video didn’t age well! It really has nothing to do with a hybrid. I still have my 08 Yukon XL (same features). Outside of not having fold flat seats in the back this is one of the best large SUVs I’ve ever owned, only second to my 04 Chevy Suburban.
ОтветитьThe steering button is a pause/play button
ОтветитьNo freaking way the rear wiper sounded like that from factory, there has to be something wrong with it
ОтветитьDoug does a video on a Tahoe Hybrid and never even mentions the hybrid system. Instead shows his intellect by pointing out badges, a rear hatch strap, cargo space, a noisy rear windshield wiper motor on an 8-year-old vehicle, interior that he calls cheap, which still looks pretty good after 15 years, a turn signal lever with multiple function switches which are all still working on my 15-year-old Tahoe Hybrid with 200,000 miles. It never occurred to him to mention that it will run up to 30 mph without the engine running. While sitting or driving with the engine not running the power steering still works because the power steering pump is electric, the AC does not start getting warm because the AC compressor is electric, the heater does not start getting cold due to no hot water flowing through the heater core because the coolant pump is electric. And since it uses kinetic braking, I have put one set of brake pads on it in 200,000 miles. The real downside is the price of the 300V battery. I put one in mine at 110,000 miles. It cost 3000.00 from GM parts. Now it is about due for another one, and the price has gone up to 4500.00. However besides regular maintenance, oil changes, wiper blades, headlight bulbs, one 12v battery, $7500.00 in 200,000 miles isn't really too bad.
ОтветитьThat turn signal stalk is the same as in my '03 silverado, except the rear wiper control is the cruise control, so i think they just reused the older design for it and just changed it a lil bit.
ОтветитьI tend to see these more often than not and I always thought they were cool
ОтветитьDoug. You completely misjudged the way to use the strap on the trunk...
ОтветитьOh wow 1 t shirt
ОтветитьMy dad worked for GMC when the hybrid Yukon came out. I remember him telling me that they had to wear special clothes and gloves just to deal with anything about the engine or batteries in this car. Also, all GM cars have that “exit light” feature and it’s really annoying if you are another driver lol.
ОтветитьBelieve it or not they left the front seats as not power seats to reduce weight
ОтветитьThis seem really personal for Doug 😂
ОтветитьI don't think the tailgate loop was designed for that purpose. Pretty sure it was just to get the tailgate low enough for you to grab it and push it in yourself lol
Ответить4 MPG is very significant in a big SUV with all the capabilities of a big SUV.
ОтветитьIt wasn't a bad idea, the execution just wasn't done properly. It did set an eventual trend for other car makers to make full size hybrid SUVs
ОтветитьThe biggest reason the Tahoe hybrid got mediocre highway economy (When compared to other hybrids) is that it uses the same exact gas engine as the non-hybrid version. Where as most other hybrids use weaker but more efficient gas engines and make up for the loss in power with the electric motors. If I remember correctly, GM co-developed the hybrid system with BMW. Basically they just stuck some electric motors in the transmission case. A cheap and fairly easy solution, but not as efficient as ground-up hybrid systems like what Toyota developed.
ОтветитьMy dad had a Chevy avalanche and it had similar interior with the seat colors and tv screen we use to play videos on it. True core memories there
ОтветитьI’m back 2 years later to be mad at your lack of knowledge and common sense
ОтветитьI remember removing the rear seats of many a Tahoe and it’s siblings when we detailed them for carmax. Them shits are heavy
ОтветитьSomeone still has one of these in my neighborhood and they drive it all the time, lol
ОтветитьMy 2005 Acura MDX has 3rd row seats and more cargo space than this. Also they fold flat to make the cargo area useful.
Ответить55k 8 years ago is 60k today, but decently equipt Tahoes are being sold for well over 80k now. Inflation at its greatest.
ОтветитьBe a man close that lift gate.
ОтветитьThat 3rd row is cute. I have a 2008 Ford explorer XLT with 3 rows and the 3rd row folds flat into the floor 😂😂
ОтветитьAll hybrids are terrible. Go electric all the way or non of the way. Electric cars appeal is low maintenance more than anything else - why on earth would you want this overly complicated machine.
Ответить🤦🏻 The lift gate loop isn’t meant to close it. It’s to help shorter people lower the rear gate to reach the back and close it from the outside.
ОтветитьI think doug should do an 02 Impala
ОтветитьHe brought up the badges more than there were badges on the car.
4 miles more per gallon for a 25 gallon tank comes out to a hundred miles fuel savings per tank. Don't sound so bad then does it?
Oh cmon Doug not turo 🤦♂️
ОтветитьThe Tahoe hybrid was a bad idea, any hybrid is a bad idea, They are for the one world order, for what they are using them for, it’s evil, and against God. God bless America🇺🇸
ОтветитьThe gas savings sounds great until you realize after driving this thing 200k miles you'll save 2500 gallons of gas, which even paying today's amount per gallon that's 10k. The same as the upcharge for hybrid. You 100% paid more for the hybrid option than it actually saved you.
ОтветитьNo. No. No. No. Simply no. The left turn signal stock is the greatest thing Chevy ever invented in the 1999-2014 model years in their trucks and SUV’s. Especially 1999-2007 when cruise control was included in it. It was stupid when they dedicated an entire button cluster on half the steering wheel just for cruise control. Every car company should follow that example, a feature rich turn signal stock. Newer vehicles over complicated all those features by scattering them throughout the rest of the car. Dodge is the worst offender by adding a cheesy stand alone cruise control lever behind the steering wheel, and using the exact same one for like 20 years.
Ответитьwhen i was in basic training in fort leonard wood someone who worked at the dfac had a white tahoe hybrid. marched past it every day lol. never seen one since
ОтветитьA lot of Doug’s critiques aren’t hybrid specific, all of those Tahoes were subpar
ОтветитьI've been waiting for some description of hybrid system of the car but only get laugh on badges and green gauge. well, wrong channel I guess.
ОтветитьDoug is being super extra on this one 😅
Ответитьname a car that holds 7 and their luggage that isnt a church van
ОтветитьThe second gen gmt800 has those turn signals on the mirrors.
ОтветитьI thought the 2008 Toyota Highlander hybrid was a much better execution of this concept
ОтветитьWould of been better with bigger electric motors and bigger batteries
ОтветитьI do not like chevy but the tailgate strap screen was absurd, nobody tries to close the thing with that strap, just allows shorter people to be able to grab the rear gate.
ОтветитьI have a 2003 silverado, the mirrors do have the red turn signals in them, puddle lights under and they can fold at the push of a button.
Ответить
