Judge Astacio Takes Stand at Hearing on Violating her Conditional Discharge

The Rochester City Court judge who was convicted of DWI took the stand Friday at a hearing on alleged violations of her conditional discharge.

Judge Letecia Astacio testified about the allegations she violated the terms of her sentence -- multiple times. At court, she denied the claims, including a new violation that came forward alleging she failed to get the ignition interlock device in her car serviced, which is a violation of her conditional discharge.

Astacio says she did not drink alcohol at two separate incidents discussed in court. That includes the night at Papaya Asian Kitchen and Bar and a family gathering last Thanksgiving.

She also denied claims that she had one of her kids blow into the ignition interlock device in her car to get it started. She says any error with the device was not her fault.
