This is not Icelandic just so people in the comments understand. It's Old Norse, which was spoken in Norway from 800-1200 A.D.

Icelandic and Old Norse are very similar, but they are not identical.

Absolutely amazing!! But then Helene has always had an amazing voice and a moving repertoire. Such a gift.  What amuses me most is listening to my wee little three year old who cannot speak a word of Bokmol singing this song along with Helene. This song is about a little child born i Denmark and was hated so they tried to kill the baby because his father was Norwegian king who was killed by the danish people and the nortmen travel to Denmark on skies and saved the baby and took him to Norway and he became the King who buildt Norway and separatet Denmark from Norway.

I just watched this movie, and it was amazing.
One of the details I noticed was that the Birkebeinerne still had some reference for the old gods, which, as a history nerd, made me happy. It's one of those great details that you wouldn't miss, but you're glad are there.
