How many channels are on the basic package

I was on BT TV for last 2 years and hated it, interface was so slow, bt phone and channels on the box didnt work unless you used only BT's router which was a piece of garbage ( i switched to a high end gaming router), box doesnt have wifi so had to have it plugged in via ethernet with a powerline meaning i was only getting max 60mbs to the box, even though i'm on 900mbs, quite often i'd turn it on and it would have a completely pink screen meaning i'd have to hard reset the box everytime... yeah. Stay well away from BT TV, years behind in tech

Is it HD as standard or do you have to pay extra for that? Also, how much extra for multi room?

Can I use this device to watch normal free views channels like old sky boxes have without joining any plans?

I think it's great that Sky point you to the catch up channels, this supports sustainablility, as it is only taking up space on one server, so saves tons of energy.

Sky stream wont even send you a box . They just rip people off.

These rip offs at sky stream rip me off. Payed for a box never got it and after so many cry stories they are refusing to send my box or my money.,

Thanks for the review, but I need to be able to record especially Sky Sports. I currently have NOW TV with my BT TV account and this provides a similar service to Sky Stream for my needs and although NOW TV doesn't offer the ability to record, my BT TV box does.
It's a shame there is not a function to add an external HD for the purposes of storing recordings

Very good video. Only trouble for me is can't get the remote to work. Totally unresponsive. Have tried new batteries and tried re-pairing it but nothing. Looks like i'll be on the phone to Sky in the morning

I have been without SKY for a few years. A couple of days ago I received a letter from them offering me SKY Stream for £23.00 a month. I called them today and told the guy about the offer, and he said he could offer me.a better deal than that. I got it for £15.00 a month, a bargain. The gear should arrive tomorrow. I hope it is as good as you have shown here.

Also (silly question!) which Input do you use sky stream through? AV1 or HDMI as Im thinking I can watch Humax through AV1 and Sky through HDMI? Am I right?

What they don't tell you is that there's no subtitles for most of the shows and movies - especially watched on demand or in 4K. You pay for UHD but they can't even provide subtitles. Also, many people experience on demand stuff being stuck on looping adverts or freeze after the ads. Youd need to pay extra for skipping the ads anyway. The thing is broken and you're locked into a 18 month contract. I'd rather watch Netflix or use Apple TV

Great content and very informative, just a shame Sky are so expensive, especially when adding the extra's. Most of the popular channels are available on Freeview. Looks like they now include HD. I had a Q box and was paying for UHD and then discovered they still charged for HD! My contract ends in October and I'll not be subscribing to Sky again. A 31 day rolling contract shouldn't cost more. Nearly every other streaming service doesn't, so why do Sky think they can get a way with it?

Let’s be honest sky are such a rip off these days, they try and make it seem like your getting a great deal by trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes but in reality it’s no different, they shot themselves in the foot by not putting out a simple app, scrap now tv and rebrand it as sky and make the prices reasonable and I’d be happy to use it but until they do that IPTV is always going to be the way to go.

This is great if you cant have a dish installed but isnt it a downgrade if you already have sky Q uhd? Great demo from the tech giant as usual.
