So Brentford is in the same situation that Tottenham used to be in. I remember so many times when Tottenham were close to signing top players just to find the deals being hijacked. Willian is a name that comes to mind.

It would hypocrital of me to slam the club when it comes to missing out on signing the likes of Eze from QPR and Bowen from Hull and not commend Spurs for not signing a prestigious young player in Gray.

But is Gray going to move the needle to have Spurs competing with the likes of Liverpool Arsenal City or Villa who finished above Spurs or have Spurs stay ahead of the likes of Utd who are linked with Ugarte.

There are levels to this.

Asking a 19 year old to be the guy is alot. Yes he did it against Chelsea, but Spurs are bigger than Leeds. The expectations are a lot higher, or they should be.

If Spurs had a quality defense minded midfielder and have Gray learning off him as an understudy, then that would take the pressure of him and allow him to develop.

The same goes for Bergvall but at least Gray has the been in England so he knows some of the culture.

Spurs just aren’t going to register the full 25 in Europa i’d imagine. Probably 23 + B list.

If EAFC is anything to go by (lol) he's one of the most versatile young prospects. Have him as a quality CM, CDM, CAM, LB, RB. Only positions he can't excel seem to be winger, striker or centre back. Surely EA wouldn't lie

Hi Ali& Guestie I see Archie signed we seemed to be giving Chelsea a run fro young players Lucas.& Vuskovic Sarr and destiny plus the club talent however we do need some additions who have experience . Compared to last yr squad by keeping Werner that the same as the last half presumably we are letting Pierre and Gio leave and Emerson . That’s a lot of experience and talent Although Emerson was the least suited he played CB for a while .As much as I think the Lucas b and Archie will be and I hope Moore gets bumped up th first team we need a seriously good no 6 a striker who can hold the ball up another attacker and with Gio going who covers madders

That’s my one issue with Ange. Sometimes you have to evolve and all the top sides have specialist set piece coaches . Why is Ange so different? Either way they HAVE to improve. they’re such a big part of football these days and let’s be honest we were terrible at set pieces last year especially defensive ones. I hope another coach is chosen to set them up.
