Beginners guide to Etsy. My first 3 weeks selling on Etsy - 3,000+ views

Is there any videos at all that actually show you how to set it up? I joined Etsy years ago but can't work out how to sell anything. I am all geared up and have been for a long time. I am a self employed Joiner/ Carpenter and I already make furniture such as coffee tables , dining tables, side tables , TV cabinets, bars etc. Also smaller things like pictures, candle holders, storage boxes, shelves, wall art etc. I am not short of ideas of what to sell, I have got ideas coming out of my ears but trying to sell anything of Etsy I find impossible. I tried last week for an hour and a half and had to give up. I got my pictures on , filled everything in and it wouldn't let me go any further because it said I hadn't completed the delivery section. I had no idea what it meant because I had. It is so frustrating when you are all set up with everything else but the only thing that is stopping you is technology. I must admit that technology is not my thing, I struggle with it but I sell things on Ebay and that is straight forward enough. Why is Etsy such hard work???

Does Etsy hold their sellers to any standards or accountability? I have read a ton of negative reviews stating that etsy doesn't support customers.

This was helpful. It made me think I should be writing down everything I need to do, Shop name, descriptions, shop pricing, shipping, shop policies, etc on paper first. I've been reading an older book I have " Starting an Etsy Business for Dummies". Going through all that seems scary, and I'm trying to get myself organized for selling some of my artwork online.

In 2021, we STAY AWAY FROM Etsy. They poach our shops waiting for us to cross the $10,000 threshold only to REMOVE 12% of our income illegally. Etsy now Sucks Balls.

Sure,,, HOWEVER, I would posit that if what you are selling is completely original and unusual and NoT available anywhere else then the photos can be not 100%—— the singularity of the object will sell itself,,,, If you’re selling hum drum CRAP then yeah,, you need the best Photos on the Planet.

why not just use place it for about $15 a month you can get unlimited mock-ups on tshirts and lots of other stuff including cards

I'm an oil painter. I made prints of my work. I made custom fragile labels with company logo. I made business cards. I made stickers and merchandise. Got a sellers permit. Got an EIN and DUNS business number. Set up an Etsy shop. Created a postal account and my own invoices. Have 12 oil paintings and 60 prints of 12 designs ready to go. 1 year mark is coming up. HOW MANY SALES SO FAR?? One.
