Quick Note about that USB4 rear IO. USB4 may be compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4 but USB4 has a lot of optional TB4 stuff within the spec that may be cut out - PCIe tunneling, daisy chaining etc. It's unclear as of right now how much or the extent of compatibility. I was reading people were having some trouble with some TB3 devices on those ASUS USB4 ports. I have not done any testing myself. I think it's a missed opportunity to not fully certify these ports as TB4 as the maple ridge TB4 controller is identical to the ones found on the Maximus Z790 Extreme board that does have official TB4.

If a PCIE Gen 4 M.2 and a PCIE Gen 5 M.2 device are both installed into the ROG GEN-Z.2 card, will the overall speed of both devices be limited to the slower of the two M.2 drives? It seems odd to me that the manual mentions a slot for PCIE Gen 4 and a slot for PCIE Gen 5 when the ROG GEN-Z.2 card shares a single connection to the motherboard near the RAM slots.

Does this board support 2 AIOs? I'm eyeing a ryujin III 360mm for the cpu plus a ROG Matrix 4090. Budget really isn't a concern, soo..

Hey, thanks for the video! I'm looking for someone with one of these who can answer a question about the RGB if possible.

If you set the RGB Matrix pattern and OLED and reboot into the bios is the RGB pattern you set still displayed while you're in the BIOS? I'm asking as I run Linux regularly alongside windows so I'd like to be able to reboot from windows into linux and keep the RGB pattern as it was but can't find any info on it :(

Good evening, do you happen to know if the first pci.ex slot supports the zotac 4090 trinity which has a protruding backplate? Or beats us. Thx

Hi I was really wondering for the PD power socket next to the 24 pin. Can you just use a VGA plug to power that? I can't find anything else to use.

I have the Asus Crosshair Extreme board and the 7950x with 128gb memory. I'm still using it with a 4090 on a test bench for now before it goes into a custom loop I'm building. It's a fantastic board. I had a very hard time getting the memory to work as it should but recent BIOS updates fixed everything and now I have my memory working with EXPO timings at 6000mhz CL30. Hopefully they release the gen 5 SSDs soon because I'd like to use those for VM work I do.

The 6 pin adapter wire is for the fan hub. It uses 6 pin because the ARGB ports can support a LOT of devices so it uses 6 pin. The 6 pin next to the 24 pin is for the case USB C port. It provides 60w of power to that port for fast charging or laptop charging capability.
