One negative thing with futures are if you want to have a good risk vs reward, you need to have an altlest 2000 or more to get it good with micro e mini contracts. So under 2000 you risk too much.

I am a Forex trader and you sold me

I trade Forex and futures (currently about 50/50 split). I have thought about going to 100% fututes but I'm not there yet and not sure its necessary. However, I think the reasons you gave to not trade Forex are only a concern IF you are using an unregulated shady broker . In the US, the US based Forex brokers are regulated the same way Futures brokers are so that should not be an issue. It's people who use these fly by night off shore brokers because they want some ridiculous crazy leverage that get into trouble and are subject to what you talk about here. I pay a small spread and that's it. Yes, at thin liquidity times you have to be careful of very wide spreads happening on some pairs (such as around NY/Asia changeover or Sunday night Asia open) but that can happen regardless of broker and just is a fact of thin liquidity and volume. Experienced forex traders are aware of that and can manage positions around those times. It is true that the spread will cause you to be automatically in drawdown when you open a forex trade. But again, if your trade decision is wise and you have good risk management, paying a 1 or 2 pip spread should not cause you any pain. Stick to pairs that have low spreads and or trade during high volume periods and this won't be a problem. Spreads are a cost of doing business and is the only trade cost you have. Futures brokers have commissions you have to pay. You may not see it at time of the trade, but it will show up in your settlement at end of the day so it's "pay me now or pay me later". No difference.

Appreciate the video Patrick. Earnestly seeking to evolve from stock trading as a newbie to Futures and/or FOREX. I had already ruled out Options and was less interested in crypto. I was leaning towards Futures although FOREX interested me as well. Once I am comfortable with Futures, select asset and a strat I was definitely seeking to try and prop firm challenge.

I find Crypto safer though, because percentages are safer than share difference ‼️

What should I use to trade futures?

went from Options, to Forex, Back to Options, And Ive finally settled on Futures.

I like trading an assortment of assets, as far as forex I pretty much only trade EUR/USD since the spreads are low , it moves a lot and I watch the DXY for all my TA. But I do agree with a lot of what you're saying, especially starting a trade in the negative.

Im slowly moving over to futures from forex... the biggest hurdle for me is the prop firm drawdown rules with Futures.. Like wtf is with Apex and that trailing DD rule.. But I do like the cheap evaluations and the zero spreads.
