Would definitely love to shoot with a GX-9 or a G9. Current set ups are the E-M1X with the M.Zuiko 12-40mm and the Nikon Z5 with some Viltrox primes. I am falling in love with Nikon right now and hopefully can invest my E-M1X into some Nikon gear. Although, I have always been curious in the other side of the MFT fence : Panasonic. 🤔 GX-9 or G9 or ZFc or ZF? Even maybe a Z30 🤷 Those Viltrox Pro APSC lenses look amazing 😍
ОтветитьTitle card has a spelling error. The word "Minute"
ОтветитьUseful video. I would be interested in a g9 version. You should consider doing them for each of your main cameras.
ОтветитьThank you, Grant, a helpful video for GX9 users!
ОтветитьLove my GX9. Great vid Grant. Also, just bought a GX1 - that's another camera to add to your list along with the EM1X. Lovely little camera
ОтветитьHi Grant! Thank you for the settings. Just upgraded from GX80 to GX9. It was hard to find one in my country. I like it, the colours are improved (same as G100). But what I've noticed, is that there are some quirks in the handling. The back buttons are a little bit more recessed than in case of GX80. While looking through the viewfinder my big finger slips over the buttons, can't find exactly where are located. This wasn't the case while using the GX80 . Also, the exposure compensation dial is really really hard to rotate, almost unusable while looking through the viewfinder. Is that the case for your copy? Any ideas how to solve this problem? It's annoying...azt the moment I have've set the back dial for that. Other than this I'm looking forward for using it as my EDC.
Cheers.
Another great video!...Just curious...What is your current choice of EF to M43 AF adapter?....16x9 is really a crop mode...So I just shoot everything in M43 then crop if necessary...But thats just me...Also...I am a street shooter so now days I rarely shoot Raw...My photo editor/manipulator of choice is a simple tool called Picasa...Many cameras can shoot excellent SOOC images if one is careful (just a few slight tweaks in Picasa...). Nothing wrong with RAW for those that choose to shoot that way...Also...I love "full spectrum" modified cameras...planning on getting one more GX9 just for that modification again...LOL. Cheers
ОтветитьHey Grant, I went out the other day with my GX-9 and could NOT find one of these settings you mentioned and now it seems obvious. I'll bookmark this one. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьGreat video, as usual. I gave in and bought the DC-S5M2W set. From an authorized store in Poland on sale for the equivalent of 2985 AUD. It was impossible not to buy this set at that price. The G9, G85 and MFT lenses are staying with me of course.
ОтветитьThanks for this. A lot would be helpful for the GX8 as well. With older eyes, focus is a growing problem, so any tools along those lines are very useful.
I don't use WB all that much, but I sometimes see some really lovely sunsets and find the colour temperature adjustments are really helpful then.
I first came across this with my first digital camera, because I only had a concept of daylight/incandescent/fluoro from my film days.
My wife and I set off on the Great Ocean Road, and, before we started out from Melbourne, over a week into the trip, she decided she did want a camera after all, so we got a fairly cheap Kodak from Hardly Normal.
It always got better sunsets, of which there were lots of good ones in 2004, than my next model up, which fixed up the reds and yellows. Hers didn't bother trying, and caught the full splendour.
I agree about the rule of thirds grid lines. They also help with keeping the camera level, something I struggle with if there are no guides. And I often find that the taslk of keeping the camera aligned almost subconsciously also has me lining up the composition as well, even if I forget that's what I should be thinking about.
As I am of the" RTFM -- after everything else fails" kind, I'll rewatch this.
Thanks!
Hello Grant ! First, useful video, the GX9 is my everyday carry camera and he is doing a good job :)
I have a little question about the thumbrest we see on the vidéo, what brand makes this ?
Brother, save me. what kind of cage can I connect to this camera? smallrig is not for sale anywhere…
ОтветитьHello! I recently bought the GX7MK3 which I saw is the GX9 for Japan, it’s my first camera ! It seems to me that the menu is a bit different and I’m honestly confused (or maybe I just don’t know how to use it much yet) was wondering if maybe you know if everything should be the same with both models! Great video btw loving the channel! :D
ОтветитьGrant hello again from Liverpool Kev in UK...Obviously hoping all well with you...I bought the GX9 yesterday and love it !...I have owned it before but I spend my life and hard earned money selling cameras and lenses, only to buy them back later haha....Thank you so much for your guide...15 minutes of kind and knowledgeable help!...As far as the thumb rest...I put a small piece of vinyl plastic under it to not have it go all the way in and to give a tiny bit of 'wriggle room' for the On / off switch...I also have the 15mm 1.7 (great minds think alike)...I have just bought a Sony A6600 for a bit of variety too...All the best Grant.....Tried to buy your jpeg recipes but i don't use PayPal?.......Love the channel...Take care.....Liverpool Kev
ОтветитьAm sorry for being naive, but I can’t find these settings that you are showing, eg Cinelike D and would like to be able to make these adjustments. Is there a tutorial somewhere?
