there's no such thing as 'lucky coincidences'...coincidence doesn't exist but only seems to exist but it's illusion...all is by design or written...all is known on the winds of the All Knowing but not Determined...there's no 'chance', 'there's no luck' just being and unfolding and, if blessed, joying in the constant unfolding or becoming with a sense of direction (discipline)...thanks...OMski

Do you know what's absolutely fascinating about Stoicism? It was so effective for me, I had to stop practicing it.

I no longer experienced the worst emotions, which in turn, led to me not writing music that was as compelling, it was all stable and satisfied, rather than emotional and expressive.
There's literally a book called "Does Happiness Write Blank Pages, on Stoicism and artistic creativity" which is a thesis on whether Stoicism is compatible with being an artist.

I implore you, if you're having trouble in life, please, try practicing Stoicism consistently for a few months. I will never undervalue it, it is an incredibly strong antidote for mental health issues that is free, and the only side effect is that it might make you too stable to be able to make sad art.
Know that CBT, the most evidence based therapy ever created, was built on Stoicism. This is a highly rationalized, actionable, logical philosophy, not a flowery spirituality with a heaven.

But understand this, the philosophy understood something absolutely integral. Knowledge does nothing, practice does something. You need to practice it, not just read some books.

To do fear setting try this exercise; (1) analyse your fears with a high level of detail, all that attempts to sap you of your potency, (2) consider all the relevant benefits of taking a particular course of action, (3) determine what the real consequences are of inaction. Use three pieces of paper and go into as much detail as you can within 30-60 minutes. Define the fear, ask yourself for preventative measure as to how to prevent those scenarious you dread from coming about in the way you describe and put steps into what you would do to repare the demage if that situation is ever to come about. Consider big and small actions in the prevention column of the paper. When looking at the benefits of any action you wish to take, consider the positive benefits of any attempt, partial success that you can foresee. Visualize what people's motives may be and how you can navigate the social, culture, political implications of what you desire most. If you feel you did not illicit the right response from the right person then simply move on to the next decision. Then when you are done, rate each of your actions next to each, mark your success here with the level of awesome or excitement it illicits from you. Long forgotten part of fear setting when people try to take into account possibilities is the decision making costs of inaction. Mark the page with columns of 6 months, 1 year and 3 years. Try to be specific about the emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, financial or influence downsides of not taking action. If you feel you have put enough detail into it, then reconsider putting off that big deal, asking for a raise, going on a date or pushing your side of the equation in the political, personal or business realities you wish to make perfection and progress in.

So what does fear setting do for you? It makes you see there isn't as bad out there as you initially thought, bad things happen to everyone but they are grossly exagerrated and people often don't see the silver lining and positive growth or tools you makes someone rely on to overcome them. Making someone stronger and more capable. Sometimes these incalculable or sometimes hard to foresee events will be the best growth you could ever imagine. The benefits of any attempt or partial success are usually quite a bit better then one first thinks. You can make faster progress then most people by being passionate by simply knowing what you will do. Inaction is the reason for much regret, fear setting prevents regret from growing to great and solidifies what you can get out of any endeavor breaking free from exposing yourself too much negative thinking and delays.

We live on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam, traveling thru space and time a million miles every year. If you are not afraid, you are a bovine in a pasture, oblivious to your inevitable demise. We have to get off this rock. Our existence here is tenuous and temporary at best. Any thought, action or resource not dedicated to getting us off of this planet is just distracting noise.

Wow. Thank you so much for speaking about mental illnesses. Or as someone else said: If you have cancer, no one would say to you "Pull yourself together, you just have to want it, then you'll make it." But sometimes you just can't make it, no matter how much you want to.

This time I let ma fear decide. Is not good cuz i projected it on buddies. It's been a while I felt this scared. I thought i may had been scammed cuz of some observations me and buddies had made. And in usual circumstances, it seems reasonable to give weight to this spooky scenario. But I should have reminded myself that she would never go this far. Not the way I met her. I am sure now there is no reason to be scared. Ofc I hope I didnt scare her with ma bad dream. I am sorry if i did. The circumstances are quite unusual so i dont know how to deal with this situation we have. And it's been hard for both sides for a long time. We never met and the fact she can make me feel this way speaks volumes to me. Not sure bout her. But i thought i would never fall in love online. It was such a big no for me and now this person shows me all these new aspects and perspectives in life. I may be not in the position to say this... but i hope she never leaves.

everything, everything is in your mind and we have the power to change our reality; focus is one the keys to start it. all depends of you of whatever is in your mind if could be for good or for the opposite its up to you. what's what you want ? its your choice. life can be easy or you can make it hard for yourself .
