I spent many hours reading reviews but nothing is better than seeing by yourself. I went to various shops but it was very difficult to get the A80J and A90J side by side except in one shop. After spending 1h comparing the 2, the light came at the end of the tunnel and the conclusion was obvious for me : the difference is not just an extra 5%, the difference in price is worth it, the A90J is more future proof and those claiming that the A80J is a better choice do it only because they can't afford the A90J. The truth is that (i) the brightness is noticeably better on the A90J and it comes with substantially more 3D like visuals, sharper colours and more details (ii) in comparison, the A80J is duller and lifeless (iii) the sound is phenomenal and better in the A90J, more detailed with less distorsion than the A80J (iv) the A90J can be used as a central speaker (v) the design and quality of materials is more refined on the A90J although it has only 2 stand positions on the 65 inches version, which is silly in my view. When you buy a TV, you are going to keep it for years and not to sell it in 2 or 3 years and therefore, I believe it is worth paying the extra price tag because the difference in quality is substantial enough. This is true except if you live like a Gollum in a dark room all day which, I believe, doesn't apply to most of us. I was going to buy the A80J and the A90J became the obvious choice. If, for budget reasons, you really can't afford it, then buy a LCD TV and save money to buy a top Oled TV in several years.

Even better than the Panasonic jz2000 is the jz1500. Exact same specs in terms of picture quality, nit count, only difference is you don't get a sound bar stuck to the TV.

How much more nits does it have compared to A80J and C1?

Where i live, the a90j is only $500usd more than the LG C1 and A80J. But 500 is still no small amount. Worth it??

I keep going back and forth about this. ugh!! I was all G1 until the Sony A90J 83' came out. Now, I'm leaning toward the A90J because of the 3D spatial audio and Bravia Core movies in IMAX enhanced. I'm not even a movie guy but, watching IMax enhanced content on an 83' screen or, listing to stream music through 3d audio is starting to suck me in. I can buy an Xbox later and get a 55-65' LG for the bedroom. Content and imaging aside, I still think the LG may be a better-looking TV especially, mounted on a beautiful wall.

Do you recommend leaving cinemotion on high for 4k HDR movies?

Well if you buy new tv my well go for the best like A90J Sony over LG G1 even you pay $400 extra not much compare with 10 years watching the best tv instead buy the cheap tv worry them broke and you spend more time and money to replace tv instead spending time to enjoy it. Yes to me worth extra money. I have 2,3 old tv still working but not pleasure to watching them because the poor quality pictures thinking give them away buy better tv so I can enjoy them

People are not buying sony and lg oled g1 because sonys poor customer service and not standing behind it's product, I bought a sonys laptops for 1800 $ and it stopped working after 6 months and sony never fixed or repaired it, and said it was my fault,and I bought a acer 400 $ laptop and had a water damage after 1.5 years and they repaired it for free, people don't like sony anymore

I’m ok with the price tag, Sony’s master series are fantastic. My current XBR is still rock solid but no 4K@120. My worry with this one is will it be bright enough in a room with windows and sunshine or should I wait for the X95J

I bought the LG CX I’m going to wait to see how this technology pans out. Next year the prices may be a bit lower. At that point I’ll jump on the bandwagon and move my CX into my bedroom.

Imagine paying 8k for a TV with no vrr, no gysnc, no freesync and only 2 hdmi 2.1, only slightly brighter, if at all, than the G1. Deffo getting the G1.

Not sure where your getting paying an extra 1200 for the Sony 83. The G1 77 is £5500. I'll be getting that definitely.

I would like to hear comments on difference between gaming on LG C1 and Sony A90J, if anybody can comment it would be great. I read a fair bit about LG C1 gaming mode but I cannot find much on Sony AJ90 gaming. I am my Pioneer plasma which I've had for almost 10 years now. It has 4 image burns which are not going away so I am a touch concerned with getting a new OLED panel for gaming which is what I primarily use it for. That and Netflix documentaries.

Had a Good Look with some good demo 4K content , I am now Truly Convinced that i don't Need a Better Picture than what this Amazing Display Produces .It is Simply a Stunning Picture
I mean i know there is Better coming but i just think what i saw today is So more than good Enough it Truly Was an Outstanding Picture
I also believe that these 77 Inch models Look superior to the 65 inch Oleds not by much Though
