I live in the state of stupid otherwise known as California. I had to get rid of my 91, 93, 94 along with a few other firearms in 2000 as I held on to them for 10 years hoping the ban would be overturned. The state and courts in violation of the Constitution forced me to dispose of my property.
Its no wonder people despise courts and attorneys. Even if overturned now I cannot replace one for what I was paid for all three.

I’m very disappointed in the biases in the comments. If this were a man attempting suicide the comments would be flooded with people saying “play stupid games win stupid prizes” x10000. But because it’s a woman suddenly the people have found their compassion and I’m seeing comments about mental health and how she didn’t really want to hurt anyone.

This type of bias from men is one part of why the male mental health crisis is so severe. Women will be judged less harshly than men for the same crime/scenario. Keep it consistent folks—we shouldn’t have to cite Jodi Arias for the damage a woman can do with a knife.

I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have done anything with that knife. It was all she could do to just hold it up. One of the officers should've at least tried a Taser when there was time. Hell some swift action and a tackle would've ended this. We can all see it plain as day. This woman wasn't a deadly threat. Woulda shoulda coulda. Was it a justified shoot? Yes, 100%, but sometimes and this is one of those times we can do better.

This is actually one of the reason cops used to carry batons. The idea was that it could be used to both keep distance and to disarm a knife wielding suspect. However, as Mike pointed out, it still required lots of training to successfully disarm a suspect. That said, I was a fan of them. They are very useful! You can use it as a billy club, a window breaker, a bread crumb to guide a trailing partner in your direction, or even directing traffic. But after Rodney King got beat down by LAPD, the optics of carrying it as a tool were too bad to continue using it. Sad.

Some of your information is not accurate. I know this family that was involved. The daughter was mentally ill, but the reason for her being outside with the knife is because she was previously attacked jumped outside at gunpoint in front of her house, defending her daughter for the attackers, so the mother rushed to the property to try to deescalate the situation telling her daughter do not go outside of this house.  And the neighbor unwillingly called the police, gearing for the safety  of her daughter.
In a phone request as a mother to call the police so that she can get her daughter. The help that she needed the neighbor unknowingly called not knowing all the facts which led up to the current situation that was very unfortunate. note knowing the severity of the incident that just had occurred not knowing all the facts to the situation. The mother was never in danger, She was simply trying to keep her daughter from going outside. But when police arrived on scene they had gave her commands to walk across the park which was in front of her door to them days and confused she complied not understanding the severity of the event holding a knife. so the mother of the girl in the blue shirt in the park walking towards police was trying to intervene because officers on scene did not know all the facts and was trying  keep the police from killing her daughter. It's very sad and unfortunate.  But under current investigation, these 2 officers have been terminated from the Henderson Nevada P. Due to ongoing ingeneration’s in similar situations where shootings have occurred with the same officers. Officers also did not take a preliminary report of the mother's findings as a witness and also the girl in the shooting was never read her Miranda rights. Which is a clear violation. At the , nor did they allow her to see the daughter in the hospital.  This case.
Is still taking place. And is under investigation as the DA has new information and papers that are currently being updated.  This was not a case of suicide by cop was a case of mental illness under high stress situations. I think that the officers could have used less than lethal force this young lady has 4 kids and the courts are keeping the mother from testifying  on behalf of the daughter and the scenes that she witnessed before the shooting, which led up to this point, saying that the mother was a victim of domestic violence when that was not the case at all, more information will come out on this soon.
 If you have any information or legal advice that can be given to this family on behalf of this unfortunate event.  I am more than likely to forward that information to the family.

I'm not sending a police report, was saying this lady was parked against on coming traffic, the police officer came up to her rolled up windows, and she wasn't responding to the police officers question, and she did not roll down the window either, she pulled a gun from the center console, and the officer quickly turn pulling out his gun and he happened to hit her in the head, i heard a scream coming from her, and the BLOOD! If she wasn't responding in the first place, me i would of backed off from her, went back to my vehicle, and called for backup! Let her think about it some more, give her time! Maybe she would of thought it through!

Will someone please explain to me, why tasers are not replace with "Launchers". Some drug induced perps will probably not be affected by blunt rounds or even pepper, but in cases like this, I would think these would be highly effective especially if they were chems (pepper). This also seems to make sense to me when dealing with uncooperatives in vehicles.

Poor tactics! There should only be one officer giving her commands. It avoids confusion and assures commands are not misheard due to too many of them flying at her at the same time.
