I enjoy watching this channel, but owning an STi, 18' white stock 60k miles, similar to when the one on this channel blew up, gives me soooo much anxiety.

So much i want to sell it and just drive my old 350z a few days out of the month rather than the STi a few days out of the week.

The piece of mind and relatively inexpensive upkeep on the Z compared to the constant worry that at any given moment my STi could get knock and im out 10g is really almost worth.

Social Media jas almost ruined STi/WRX ownership for me and it sucks cause the VA STi is such a good car otherwise.

well, still better than europe, here at the moment we pay around 1,95 a liter, which is around 7-8 dollars a gallon

I always wonder why is that? Why when you give a car all the love and care and you decide to take a long trip in it, it's always acting up. Meanwhile if you set of in a $1500 box, which right from the get go has lights all over the dashboard and smells completely wrong, doesn't have 2 identical panels and feels like it will die any minute, it just takes everything like a champ and just keeps on going? Why? I have an old Audi A6 with the 2.7L bi-turbo engine. It was dripping oil for quite some time, but with a regular tip up of 500ml at every 1500km, it ran just like clockwork, with no other issues. Decided to fix it, got it into a garage, the whole engine had to get out, so i just decided to replace every single hose and old rubber element and seal with a brand new one, completely cleaned the block, replaced all sensors, cleaned and maintained the turbos, all OEM parts as original as they could be... the whole deal and since then it's been acting up constantly. It's not dripping oil anymore, but timing is constantly shifting, runs incredibly rich, changes boost on its own boost, one day it's stock 250HP the next day it runs at 400, engine mounts shake randomly, belts sqeeking. It's like some cars and engines simply don't want to be touched and want to be left with their imperfections.

New IAG engines need break-in oil changes at 50, 500, 1500 and 3000 miles, with a Pro-tune required at 800-1000 miles, which could explain the mileage.

Do you know what would be faster than a 500hp Subaru or Evo? A gen 2 Prius. That thing would just chug along with a comfortable ride, low fuel consumption and perfect reliability.
