it's effective, did some myself a couple years ago, a $30 come-a-long winch and a set of $20 straps, made the job 10 times easier, even found some gold in the end, not much, but enough to pay for the gear anyway.

you know you can get whinches that can tug 5 tons that weight the same as a couple of shovels, probably with the same nylon that they use to tie down truck loads. like 10 ton nylon ribbons with a whinch integrated in them. :)

D'arcy does his videos from his claim way up in BC. Not Colorado. Haha, as if you couldn't tell by his accent Ay.. Lol. I myself am just getting in to prospecting. Well done. You're only the second person I've seen (besides myself) that uses that "rock poppin') technique. I'm sure others do but I mostly just see people give up.

Nice.   Sure is pretty there.

I use a pick for pulling boulders, the leverage with the handle is enough to move that larger boulder out of your way in less than two minutes and that rock you popped would take me 5 minutes to remove, if that. Some of the best gold I've found has been under boulders but you need to be very careful when a boulder begins to move and keep yourself and your feet clear of its expected pathway.  I've never had to pop a rock your way, the pick is faster saving valuable time for more panning.

Lol.  You're hardly a Paul McCartney!  Taking an hour and a half pulling a rock for your video was a waste of an hour and a quarter. Listen and watch what other experienced prospectors do and you'll learn much better methods and techniques.
