I had to do a double take because Emma is looking just like you with darker hair! Congratulations on her graduating high school and going to college!💜
ОтветитьI'm happy with the one I made and will start a second one. Very fun to make and cute. The piecing and rounded corners make it more interesting than just flapping two pieces of flannel together. Thank you.
ОтветитьOne question, why not just cut the backing fabric to the same size as the assembled front fabric to begin with instead of cutting it larger just to trim it later? Takes off an entire extra step and saves fabric…
ОтветитьCan you do this with flannel, would the seam allowance be different?
ОтветитьWhat is the seam allowance
ОтветитьI like to make these with cute child-themed flannel fabrics. For one blanket I used a blue and yellow rubber ducky theme, and for another, I used zoo animal fabrics.
ОтветитьThis may be a Silly question, but when you stich in the ditch, does the stitch show on 5h back.and what size stitch would I use,for the ditch
ОтветитьI use a dinner plate to trace a rounded corner on my receiving blankets and baby quilts.
ОтветитьWish you sold that fabric
ОтветитьLove! Making mine with baby flannel, so you recommend washing your fabric before sewing? And will that make it look worn?
ОтветитьAwwww. So sweet.
ОтветитьWhere so you get that corner template??
Ответить❤
ОтветитьDo you wash your flannel first?
ОтветитьShe doesn’t say what seam allowance to sew this
ОтветитьWhy no batting?
ОтветитьAs a receiving blanket, would you recommend flannel fabric?
ОтветитьI’m new to learning to quilt baby blankets. Can you explain why one fabric is larger and then cut the extra off?
ОтветитьWhat kind of fabric does the backing have to be?
ОтветитьWhat kind of fabric are you using ?
ОтветитьHello. Is it possible to add some wadding to this blanket? Thank you!
Ответитьfor me they look like pillow cases
ОтветитьCould I add batting inside ?
ОтветитьA nice pattern fabric
ОтветитьIt help’s if you do blankets for both genders!!!!
ОтветитьThis would have cute with a self-mitered corners
ОтветитьHi Kimberly, I simply love all your tutorials. Can you show us how to make the beautiful blue and red quilt hanging behind you.Its so amazing. i have some blocks made and i would like to learn how to make this gorgeous quilt. I am definitely going to try making your receiving blanket.Thanks.
ОтветитьWhat is the fabric?
ОтветитьNice. Flannel?
If I press the 1/4 inch seam in the hole before turning, cleaner fold.
Omg I tried this and it was simple. In love with this
Ответить♥️♥️♥️
ОтветитьCan you recheck pattern? I’m unable to download :(
Ответитьthanks for sharing
ОтветитьA bit hard for a beginner... What's a nesting seam?
ОтветитьSo what is a receiving blanket?
ОтветитьBeautiful blanket but as a total beginner I don't understand anything here. Too bad, gonna look for another tutorial.
ОтветитьI just mailed off the blanket I made. Thank you for this tutorial. My first blanket! I'm happy with how it came out!
ОтветитьJust finished one! Really cute & when baby out grows it it can be saved for use as a doll blanket! Love it - thanks for the clear directions.
ОтветитьI made this with three prints for a baby girl and it turned out sew cute :) thank you!
ОтветитьThanks. Great tutor. Now i know how i can use fat quarts. Great rounding corner idea. STITCH IN THE DITCH. never gets old! 😁🧵✂️🥇
ОтветитьWhat fabric type do you use for the back?
Ответитьanother great video but I would have liked to have seen a few seconds of "stitch the ditch" as that isn't something I have experience with. :-(
ОтветитьI have that exact iron. I simply love it! Actually, it has been the best I have had in 43 years.
ОтветитьHi Kimberly, if I wanted to add the batting to make it more like a quilt would the batting
shift when it’s washed?
Beautiful craft now you have a new subscriber
ОтветитьI know I'm late to the party and it's a sideways question, but I'm in the UK and it's not a term we use so I just looked up to see what a 'receiving' blanket is. The consensus of opinion is that it's either just a light weight cellular blanket so baby doesn't overheat, in which case most people thought it should just be called a blanket, OR it is muslin squares used for burbing cloths and other slightly messy receiving purposes.
So in light of my research, why is this pretty quilted piece called a receiving blanket?
Very nice love it
ОтветитьWhat size rotary cutter do you use?
ОтветитьHi Kimberly, :) I just completed the baby blanket made from this tutorial. I made changes because I wanted mine to be wider and longer so I did 8" squares in 5 baby prints, all flannel with an adorable animal ark flannel backside. I quilted some fancy stitches about 5 inches apart to it for a good hold and finished it off with a decorative edging stitch. it really came out so so adorable and perfect for a little boy I'm giving it too! Thank you for sharing! :)
ОтветитьWhere can I get the cutting mat you are using g pleaze
Ответить
