I like to break in my scissors by trying to cut through a broomstick and totally springing them too
ОтветитьI have a 2004 charge ti that my security torx do not fit, but do fit my wave
Ответитьdo you have a link to the ratched you used in this video? only found a different one on amazon...
ОтветитьIf the pliers locked up, how would you be able to use the wood?
ОтветитьProbably a stupid question but...
I'm going to remove the plier head from an old LM Kick and replace it with a Rebar plier head. The Kick is used w/no blade and the Rebar plier head is from a stripped for parts eBay listing. Everything from my research says the parts are interchangeable (concerning the plier heads) and since the Kick is discontinued without a blade and the plier head is from a disassembled Rebar, the warranty does not matter. It's for my job and I don't require many tools and I always carry a blade. What the Kick has is pretty much all I need, I just need replaceable wire cutters, otherwise I wouldn't switch the plier head.
My question is about blue Locktite. Locktite is basically Super Glue. Fast setting. I've only used regular Super Glue, so forgive my ignorance, but what is the best way to approach putting in the screws after the swap, based on the limited time frame allotted before the Locktite dries? Btw, I have a set of parse/disassembly wrenches and have watched your video on using them. I just don't want to bugger it up or have to keep unscrewing, glueing, tightening, unscrewing, glueing, tightening until it's set correctly. I can find nothing on the subject but, "Use blue Locktite".

im debating between the wave + or the charge titanium. Which would you suggest?
ОтветитьEverything is ok with this multitool, now I'm gonna show you how to fix it :):)
ОтветитьSpend $150 on a tool, and have to modify it? You kiddin me?
ОтветитьPoint of note, if yours is an early wave, as mine is, the screws are NOT torx (six points) they're pentalobe (five points) I had to order mine online as you're unlikely to find them in most tool outlets 👍🏻
ОтветитьDude!! Got my first Leatherman today and did the mod to loosen up the plyers, worked perfectly! Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьI just received mine. Not happy. They didn't put the the bottle opener and larger bit driver in. Instead they added another set of scissors, flat head and small bit driver.
ОтветитьHi. Just wondering can you please tell me what size the security torque bit size on an Wave? Thank you and have a good night
ОтветитьDoes taking the tool apart void the warranty then?
ОтветитьI have that exact bit set in the black case you have there. I love it. I've had it for about a year and it seems to be pretty well built. I also have a vise very similat to that one. If you dip your leatherman or knife into boiling water for about 30 seconds, it'll soften the locktite and make it easier to loosen and easier on your bits so you're not stripping or shattering them.
ОтветитьHow about doing a similar series for the Wally Wave. I went it after several years of hand pinching from my Wave+.
ОтветитьHa, on my Surge, I had to hold one side with a small pair vise grips as both screws would rotate.
ОтветитьThanks for the great information.
ОтветитьI’m a utility company splicer and dumped my leatherman wave due to getting pinched so many times
ОтветитьWOW thankyou so much, this was so helpful working it over time and oiling was doing nothing, very glad i found your video!
ОтветитьIs it possible to switch the sides of the primary blades for a lefty? Or is there a one sided detent?
ОтветитьAnd the reason why they put replaceable cutters on the pliers is because the original ones worked
ОтветитьHey there Signal owners, I've just made an awesome mod for my Signal,
you can search for: Leatherman SIGNAL T-shank saw holder MOD. (I'm not
seeking for trafic, there's just one video, I just want to share my
idea). I like it a lot, because its so simple and works great!
I just sacrificed a eye glass screwdriver and popped out the pin in the security t10 and now I just have standard t10
ОтветитьThe Ares mini ratchet is awesome. I carry it everyday in my wallet with nineteen bits and an extension.
ОтветитьYou have a skill when it comes to explaining things. Very straight forward and simple! love it
Ответить...Or u could buy a Victorinox Spirit X and get a perfectly tuned tool every time right out of the box. Sorry Leatherman
ОтветитьWhat’s best the leathman wave + are the Leatherman suage in your eyes?
ОтветитьAll my Leatherman tools are no longer stiff/sticky in the pliers now. Thanks for the tip on torquing them to break them in.
ОтветитьYIKES!!! 🙄
ОтветитьUgh! That plastic tray! Come on Leatherman, jump on the recyclable packaging train!
ОтветитьCowabunga dude.! What's next.!?
ОтветитьAny tips for fixing up and down blade play when locked for the liner lock tools other than sending it in for warranty?
ОтветитьI'm assuming most f your mods to a wave could be done to a surge since they are basically the same except for scale.
ОтветитьSo going after your plier trick, can i also use it when he play in the pleirs is gettig to loose do to use? cause that is my general problem to send it in for warranty . That the axle of the pliers is getting to loose....
ОтветитьI've waited so long for a series like this can't wait for more 👍👍
ОтветитьAbsolutely great video so far I went so far as to subscribe now because I'm following along with my Leatherman tuning it up thank you so much
ОтветитьAlright here i am told you I'd check it out
ОтветитьThe nut is on the blade side of the pivot.
Ответить👍👍👍 can't wait for nx series
ОтветитьThis is fantastic! Looking forward to the next video!
ОтветитьHow to add an awl to wave pls...
ОтветитьHello - nice beginning to the series - great video! I see you decided to "gird your loins" in preparation for your modding series by shaving your beard :) good luck!
ОтветитьSend me a leatherman bit for the wave the Phillips and flat. I lost mine and haven't used the wave since! The wave has been sitting in the drawer collecting dust
ОтветитьIt is good to heatgun the screws a bit before fine tuning the internal tools because it will be easier to adjust tightness and you eliminate the chance of breaking a screw. I dont know if it can happen with a Leatherman but I heard stories about screws breaking when using high force on them.
ОтветитьIs there a way to add an awl to the Wave? I was thinking, maybe there is a way to use the bit holder to insert an awl.
ОтветитьI picked up that same scredriver you have in the thumbnail. Its absolutely brilliant
