Fire whover is putting in those goddamn laugh tracks
Ответить"Tax that ass"
ОтветитьHe acts as if he could live without the things the billionaires produce.
ОтветитьBillionaires, Oligarchs > Kleptocrats
ОтветитьPigeons, Kicker > Tickr
ОтветитьStale applebees, comma
ОтветитьAnything above $13 billion -> naval carriers
ОтветитьISS
ОтветитьYou know who else won't save us?
Closet communists and people who think work is oppression.
Truth hides in Comedy.
ОтветитьThe problem is not the US law, the problem is capitalism.
That same scenario is repeated all over the world.
Are the laugh tracks fake? Someone literally laughed after he said "the season of giving is officially here", not to mention all the laughter after literal plain statements. Am I missing something? I might just not get it idk
ОтветитьOne thing about Life is for sure, The moment who achieve your objective, the next one begins !
ОтветитьCursed to be middle class
Ответить... the fact, that even in one state a billionaire could just make the decisions with his money as easily, if not more easily than a politician... is insane. And given America has quite a few billionaires... that's reason to be terrified. And to tax that ass. (At the same time though, we need a government overhaul, because the governments we have are usually the enablers of this.)
ОтветитьMillionaires complaining about billionaires is wild, income inequality doesn’t negate the fact that the standard of living for the poorest Americans continues to rise.
ОтветитьWhy would someone have to justify their wealth? What an incredibly moronic topic. And, of course, most would agree with all this. I'm broke AF, but you will not see me telling someone how to use their capital, regardless of how they got it.
You idiots should learn a bit about the capitalist nation you live in. Its only seen as bad, when it does not benefit us.
This is what l call "intelligent" comedy. Well thought out. Makes you laugh while making you think.
Personally l love the idea that there are folks out there with skills to make insane amounts of money.... LEGALLY. That should never be discouraged. My view or the solution is simplifying the tax code. One paragraph of tax rules is enough to save us all this trouble, l think.
Bill Gates is not a Saint. And his philanthropy is in part due to all the shady shit he did for the 40 years he ran Microsoft.
ОтветитьDoes giving money actually matter? at the moment on a GLOBAL scale, is money the only
thing that matters?
You'll be fourty in two years.
Hassan 2024
I am very greateful for that speech
ОтветитьThe fact that he didn't ridicule Elon Musk the way he did other billionaires speaks volumes. Musk had already done several big mistakes at the time this show was aired.
Ответитьyou know, it's been a hot minute since i've watched patriot act episodes over. and i'm rewatching this, and i do think i take umbrage with anand giridharadas conclusion that it's good that bill gates can dictate public health policy in the global south. there's a paternalistic tone to his argument.
it's true that we can't afford to address public health ourselves (because the wealth is extracted from the global south by those very same billionaires in the imperial core), but why should an outside force dictate how we address it? not if we can- the assistance is appreciated. but HOW we do. malaria is a big problem in the global south, but so are other illnesses. the caribbean, where i'm from, has the highest incidence of diabetes in the world. why are we at the whim of a billionaire taking on our plight as a pet project? and why do we have to only use that money for what they want? what if we need to pivot our public health policy? leptospirosis is a big problem in my country saint lucia, concurrent with dengue, but if we were getting funding from gates' foundation, and we managed to control dengue with the funds for mosquito born illnesses, we would not be helped with leptospirosis outbreaks, simply because bill gates doesn't think it's worth it.
just something that occurred to me watching this video with new eyes.
I just wonder wich race is going to destroy the world???!!!!!
ОтветитьHumans suck
ОтветитьI'm here again after Bezos donated 100M after the fire in Maui - are billionaire's donations still a scam?
ОтветитьI don't get it. You people have so much talent. You are clearly smart enough to understand what's wrong with the whole social and government system. Then why do you not find more creative ways to mock people who deserve it? Why use ableist slurs like d*mb? Why body shame? You even body shamed the good guy and to his face, at that! Why promote that culture of mocking people for their appearance, their mannerisms or other harmless things like that? That's just lazy. While also being extremely harmful
ОтветитьWhen you pay taxes philanthropy is optional. But then again when did the richest ever pay as much as the poor? Min wage earners pay substantially more taxes, tsk.
Ответить- When a program is funded by the government, it's something you voted for, and you're entitled to, and you don't have to thank anyone for that.
- When a program is funded by a rich person, you're at the mercy of his or her good will.
Rich people should just pay their fair share of taxes and get out of the way of managing everyone else's life.
Hasan is an average Matrix Agent
ОтветитьThe world runs on greed that is why the humans will eventually eliminate themselves out of the equation.
ОтветитьWe aren’t letting people be ‘rich’, they are rich because of their business acumen.
Ответить#€uth
ОтветитьWE NEED THE FUCKING PITCH FORKS
ОтветитьOh, that's easy; because you don't become a billionaire by giving a shit about the common folk.
ОтветитьHasan for President!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
ОтветитьThis so real 🙏
ОтветитьHasan: Look, that's the last guy using Dell computers
Every Indian PC users: You mean me?
Bill gates answer is what lex luthor said to the question in JLA. 😂
ОтветитьThere is but one solution brothers and sisters. Cancel Netflix. Then demand that Hasan Minhaj be the new permanent host of the Daily Show.
ОтветитьHasan Minhaj should host the Daily Show. He has the right combination of intelligent, honest, bold, funny, insightful, and passionate. He really is the closest thing to Jon Stewart since Jon Stewart.
Ответитьedit: my original statement that i need to fix "Zuckerberg didn't exactly build Facebook, he mostly piggybacked on two people who built it for him then screwed them out of the company."
addendum: so the situation is more complicated... Mark did code Facebook himself, but the actual screw-job back then was a couple things.
firstly, he got the idea from a couple Harvard seniors at the time, and was supposed to be working on the project together. but instead, Mark made his own version of the site, and then hacked into the seniors' site ConnectU to try to sabotage it.
second issue, which is more nuanced, Mark used (at the time co-owner of Facebook) Eduardo Saverin's wealth to invest into servers for Facebook to expand, but in a good faith partnership, which seems like at face value, Eduardo forced Mark's hand...
there is a whole story about it that i guess was dramatized in that movie i never watched, but the short story is that Facebook needed funding decisions made, and Eduardo was supposed to be the one in charge of the business side of things, wasn't cooperating or something?
it was a mess of a situation, but you could argue that Mark booted Eduardo out of the company in a crappy way, but i at least understand now that it wasn't out of malice or greed, but due to hangups in setting up and expanding the company.
either way, i'm so no fan of the Zuck, but i can at least appreciate that he coded Facebook himself, well, the initial code at least, i read that he isn't as hands-on as a dev anymore.
anyways, i think i did my good-faith duty now, so i'm gonna say that i rectified my ignorance well enough now.
i mean, if you think there are good billionaires, it's just a matter of how many elon musks we're getting for each bill gates
ОтветитьWhere is the next episode of this show? I wanna see the next episode. Give me the next episode!!!
ОтветитьP.S. I love the analysis. However living in a third world South American country pestered by "socialism", I really don't care much that some rich people (lucklily we have no billionaires here) put money in civil movements that try to unmask the government. I am aware that they do it for all the wrong reasons but sometimes you need to let evil work against evil and, relying on a little wishful thinking, hopefully they will end up killong each other sooner or later. Maybe a lot of wishfull thinking. Maybe the problem is that either politians or billionaires are simple a reflection of what their people are, only with more money and power to make feel their lack of principles and ethics on a more intense way!
