It's really not a bad job but it does wear on you and you need the right car, personality, and location to make consistently good pay. Social aspect can be annoying especially with drunk people. Conversations tend to be small talk about the same 5 subjects. People driving like crap around you is also bad which is why I prefer nights. Been doing it 5 years total 2 years full time. Don't really get too many bad customers. But everyone I give rides to that used to do the job has stories so I guess it comes down to feeding the trolls which I don't do.

My experience as an Uber driver was sitting in downtown Seattle for two hours on a Saturday night without a single ride request. Yet all around me I see rideshare drivers picking people up. There must be a secret, but I don't care to know it.

Please do insurance sales. It's tough to start with commission only. Insurance companies attract you with "be your own boss". I lost a marriage during the "build phase".
