The Tesla Model S Plaid Is the World’s Fastest (and Coolest) Sedan

There’s a little Easter Egg on the Plaid Models. When you take this on track days, there’s this feature that gives a special effect for the heads-up display. When you activate this feature, on the display, there’s a bunch of white lines like sun’s rays and as you accelerate from 0-60, there’s a trail of white hollow squares coming towards you like you’re warping into a different dimension. That’s where the Tesla Plaid got its name.

That dashboard seems like a nightmare to disassemble. No wonder they don't want you working on your own vehicle; they want to milk labor hours out of the customer when things inevitably break. Not to mention if you pickpocket a Tesla owner, I guess you can take their car too.

Tesla Plaid is truly an American muscle car, and in more than one way. Firstly, it's one of the fastest on a straight, and average Joe can really buy it... only realistically though probably in America at $100k. That aside, it gets beaten by a BMW station wagon at the Nuerburgring when having to turn at speed, and already faster straight-line electric super cars exist such as the Rimac Nevera.

I just bought the 2023 Tesla model S Plaid two days ago. It is all that and then some! Ive driven a lot of fast cars but this tops them all. The price is a bit lower now @ 112k

This is not the fastest car in the world. It's the quickest. In fact many limited run supercars have much higher top speeds, however to be quicker on a drag than a tesla you need some modifications, but it can be done.

That transmission... yuck. I hate driving ipads, no matter how fast.

Teslas remind me of cigerette lighters, slick, cheap and toss them out when you are done in just a few years. Just what our environment does not need right now.

With the recent price drop down to $89,990 as of Sept 2023, I wonder if Doug would have given the plaid an 8 or 9 for value making it to a score of 74 or 75 which would tie or have top Doug score. Doubt the F1 would be beaten by an EV though 😅
