He has a luck meter like karma, it increases when bad things happen to wes and it decreases when it stops something bad from happening OR something good happens, good things are like finding better loot when mining cutting down trees and more, bad things are like getting less loot finding more enemies. He could also manpulate his own karma by making a step ladder to pass trough or finding 4 leaf clovers in grass a drop that only him can get and use
