Anyone else noticed if you do what you should be, workout hard for example, get amazing sleep, wake up ready to tackle the day, your readings are terrible… and when you wake up feeling exhausted, your readings are great… it’s almost as if I need to the opposite of what the app suggests. Definitely will not be renewing the subscription but I will keep it for a year to gather sleep data and work on building a consistent sleep routine. Other than helping build healthy habits I don’t think it can serve any sort of real purpose. The data is clearly not accurate in regards to recovery and performance.
ОтветитьAgree with all of this and I realised it all 2 weeks in, another shit thing for me is that I cant see the timeline of all my workouts and their strain levels and other details which is super disapointing.
ОтветитьIt's a subscription service do you really expect them to say thank you like you're the only person they have
ОтветитьAwesome honest review. This confirms My skepticism about whoop.
ОтветитьSo its good for people with active lifestyle where things change and you don’t know if you are rested enough.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this! I just got mine and am already unsure of it. They have 30 day return but it also says it needs like a month to get the correct data
ОтветитьI came to the same conclusion. A one time payment would be a completely different story. But paying a monthly rate really sucks.
ОтветитьThanks for the honesty!
ОтветитьWhoop sucks ! its a gimmic and you cant trust their numbers . Reminds me of the blood test results in one day from that frauder Holmes.
ОтветитьWell said. Thanks for sharing
ОтветитьWho's going to tell him that's not what heart rate variability means? It's not not heart changes, it's the difference in time between individual heart beats. Nothing to do with increases or decreases in HR.
ОтветитьI personally love it. It's like an accountability buddy.
ОтветитьThanks for your honest review.
ОтветитьThanks for your honest review. Was thinking about getting a membership but can’t get over the cost and not too sure how clever the data is.
ОтветитьOk what's the replacement?
ОтветитьWhat is other option?
ОтветитьFor that price just buy an Apple Watch I would say
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I did the free month and I’m sending it back. I don’t like the subscription.
ОтветитьI cancelled mine too today. I just don’t see any value.
Ответитьthanks for your review!
ОтветитьI don’t understand the hype around it considering how much you pay for it over the course of a couple of years vs just buying a Garmin or Apple Watch. Plus, you can sell the later ones when you are done with them.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. You helped me make a decision. Im not going to buy a whoop. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future.
ОтветитьI was already second guessing my decision to buy it next month due to not being owner of my data, unsure about it's privacy and anonymity as well as being a service instead of buying a good. This just slamdunks my decision to stay with suunto.
ОтветитьWhoop is pretty grimey. I’ve been playing $30 a month for over 2 years and when I unfortunately lost my device, they told me it was $150 for a replacement. At the membership cost I found that extraorbitant. I told them I can’t do that and they were happy to cancel my membership. I was shocked at the lack of costumer gratitude.
ОтветитьThanks for your video Austin! I recently purchased the Fenix 7 Pro (47 mm) and have been using it for 4 days now... I'm already blown away on all its features (first time garmin watch owner) vs my Whoop 4.0. I recently got into hybrid athlete training this summer as I recently completed Andy Frisella's 75 Hard, so I'm looking forward to running and lifting with my Fenix 7 Pro going forward.
I've really enjoyed using my Whoop for the past 3 months, however, I'm starting to think that my Whoop is becoming less insightful over time like you mentioned. You pretty much figure out what you need to do to achieve a high recovery or to get better sleep within the first 3 months from my experience (mouth tape, proper fueling, sleep, electrolytes, trace drop minerals, etc.).
Redundant was a perfect word for this product. I’ll still recommend it to anyone interested in learning which patterns work for them but other than that. I didn’t find it very helpful at all after the fourth full month.
ОтветитьPerfect video dude, thanks 4 taking the time to make it ^
ОтветитьWhoop is shit get a Oura ring 3
ОтветитьThank you Austin, Whoop has lost a potential customer thanks to you.
Glad I didn't end up paying £250 annually.
Thanks Austin, I was contemplating whether I'd stick with my Whoop, but you articulated all of my concerns with the band. You helped me work through the issues and I'm cancelling my membership!
ОтветитьI was considering subscribing to their membership but decided to do some research and found this video. Thank you for sharing it.
ОтветитьWas debating getting one but you made me realize I could probably just write down how I slept and what time I slept in a journal and within a month learn my sleeping habits. And for the price, it’s not worth it for 2+ months. Thank you for the video
ОтветитьThe garmin watches are rad
ОтветитьI appreciate the honest review.
Totally helped me on top of the price I feel like I’m going to research other options
I hate the climate we’re in. You’re saying, basically garbage. Other people … sooo worth it. Are wearables just making ppl delusional? Like I just wanna be healthy and would like to do that without having to run to the doctors every second. Wearables aim to give us that control, but is any of this shit actually helping? Also- whoop commercials are so misleading. All their video clips are of athletes lifting weights … but multiple reviewers have said it’s worthless for strength training. 😩 WTF
ОтветитьThank you for making this video. It's really deplorable that to find the "real" answers we have to look for unpopular and low sub count creators because everyone who is big is either paid by whoop or sponsored. But seriously keep doing what you do, and thank you so much.
ОтветитьThanks for the insight. I guess it comes down to knowing your benchmarks by wearing it the minimal amount of time necessary i.e. not for longer than 6 months. However, it comes into question when the accuracy is questionable. I will most likely try it for six months and then switch to the new Garmin Venu 3 when that comes out and cross compare stats to look for consistencies and therefore, know my real stats.
ОтветитьThis is helpful because Mickey gave me his old one forever ago and I’ve been deciding if I should use it
ОтветитьI did read recently that the yearly subscription does go down to reward customers. Maybe they heard this and took note.
Ответитьso, the green or red is the app judging the date. it judges faulty. oke
BUT
does it register the data? because you can ignore app's judgement and just come to your own conclusions based on the data, the numbers, and your experience, right?
great insight my guy, couldn’t agree more
ОтветитьAre you planning to use any other fitness tracker? Would really love to hear your thoughts on the oura ring
ОтветитьHonestly I don't agree with the green recovery when you toss and turn at least not in my case.. When I sleep shitty I don't get green... Also it should be noted that other things decide your recovery not just sleep. But I'm with you on moving on from whoop... The subscription and accessories are grossly overpriced and the customer service is awful. Will prolly just stick with Garmin.
ОтветитьI have had whoop for like 5 days and it has failed to record my sleep the past two nights and that screws up the data for the rest of the day. I hit up whoop support and they say it's my tattoos. I'm like why the fuck am I even using this? I can tell when I am too tired to run or lift. I can tell when my heart rate is high. I know when I've had a good night of sleep and when I haven't. Why am I spending $30 a month to have this gadget that only works sometimes tell me what I already know? Sorry just processing my thoughts here... I think I'm going to cancel whoop and not use any fitness tracker because they're basically useless addictions. Just run and lift, eat clean and go to bed.
ОтветитьI agree with all the comments above. Cancelled my whoop and found better through Polar and now Garmin.
Ответитьmy device did not work. I want to warn everyone I can that whoop company cheats its customers. Despite warning that you can return the device it is a big scam. Although I am within 30 days to return it, they do not answer my messages, it is impossible to contact them and if they answer you, they are copy-paste messages without providing you with the steps to return the device. I will try to warn as many people as possible of this scam. Be careful! it's really frustrating and sad to see you are being scammed
ОтветитьVery helpful
ОтветитьI cancelled my subscription first year in for the same exact reasons
ОтветитьFantastic! Thank you for your analysis…it sure helped. You’re right - over time, we get the same readings & you get to “know yourself” in your routine. If it does any good, it ends up working itself into obsolescence.
ОтветитьHey, great video. I don’t own this strap so cannot speak from personal experience but I think you are confused about HRV tho. Heart rate variability doesn’t spike when you have a tossy night, move around and your heart rate goes up and down. HRV measures variability in time between individual heartbeats measured in milliseconds. High HRV happens when your parasympathetic nervous system is active. Perhaps when you are sleeping out in the woods, you feel happy, comfortable, calm and therefore your HRV goes up which translates into great sleep score. Feeling like you didn’t have good sleep might come from having a hard ground to sleep on or other conditions? Just my 2 cents
