A wonderful video that reveals the melancholy that motivated the “surviving Beatles” to finish a pending matter in honor of the “deceased Beatles”. “Now and Then” is a beautiful worthy farewell song from the best band that ever was and will ever be, though not fully representative of the quartet's own genius. As a music lover of years, I have no doubt that, beyond the times of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, who constitute the Old Testament of music, the Beatles essentially constitute the New Testament. That's saying a lot, considering that music is perhaps the most transcendent art form of all.

I was a schoolboy in Sheffield, England, when The Beatles released 'Love Me Do', 'She Loves You', 'Please Please Me', and so on. This video made me very emotional, and the tears were falling like rain by the end. The sight of the lads taking a bow and then fading away was the straw that broke the camel's back.

As someone who was in middle school in the US when the Beatles exploded onto the world, I grew up with the Beatles, and I've listened to their music for 60 years. Every year, the Beatles are the most listened-to group on my Spotify account. Your reaction to the music and video were perfect, and it spans the generations. My reaction was the same as you expressed.

My dad got me into the Beatles when I was really young, probably in 1973. We always listened to them. Had all the albums. I lost him in 2007, and when this came out, I was in tears. And then when the video came out, I was done, I cried for 2 days, the memories of the lads, and the memories of me and my dad listening to them. Its been a hood while since this came out, and everytime I see the video or hear the song, I have tears in my eyes.

I was born the year the Beatles split up. People told me "that is our music". What I love is seeing generations of Beatles fans old and new that are moved by them like this young lady. I saw Paul live in Boston, MA in 2022 and there were people in their 80s and as young as 4 or 5 years old all singing along. We all get older and lose people but we need to enjoy our time and live our joys today. Yesterday is gone.

I stumbled on your reaction video this morning while sitting in Jamaica. You obviously know The Beatles and you got me to tear up again this morning. When I first saw the video, it immediately took me back to that terrible day of the 9th of December 1980. It also took me back to that amazing day, May 26th, when Sgt. Pepper came out and I listened to it probably half a dozen times on the headphones in 1967. I was 6 at the time and my 16 yr old brother let me use the headphones for the first time by myself. So, the video really messed with my head, I cried, felt heartbroken as well as joyous to see and hear The Beatles back together one more time. At the very end of the video, your reaction of sniffing your nose was priceless. You got it. I may be 63 but you felt it too. It hit me hard, I was a mess for a couple weeks. I am glad you didn't have to go through that. BTW your music is excellent, I have already listened to some LimeSublime stuff on Spotify. I have subscribed here and recommend that everyone follows your journey of what is going to be a brilliant career! Thank you for making my day! And I LOVE the Hofner!

John wrote this song in 1977 and put the song on a demo tape. He had written on the cassette "For Paul". After he passed, Yoko gave the tape to Paul. The last time John saw Paul, he said "Remember me now and then, old friend".

"Now and Then" originated as a ballad that John Lennon wrote and recorded around 1977 as a solo home demo but left unfinished. After Lennon's death in 1980, the song was considered as a potential third Beatles reunion single for their 1995–1996 retrospective project The Beatles Anthology, following "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love", both based on two other Lennon demos of the same names. Instead, due to production difficulties, it was shelved for nearly three decades, until it was completed by his surviving bandmates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, using overdubs and guitar tracks by George Harrison (who died in 2001) from the abandoned 1995 sessions.[10]

The final version features additional lyrics by McCartney.[4] Lennon's voice was extracted from the demo using the machine-learning-assisted audio restoration technology commissioned by Peter Jackson for his 2021 documentary The Beatles: Get Back.[11] Jackson also directed the music video for "Now and Then".[12] The song received widespread acclaim from critics, who felt it was a worthy finale for the Beatles. It topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria, and reached the top ten in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States. It is the only Beatles UK number-one single not attributed to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership
