Get your info right. Zipolite beach is in the Puerto Escondido area of Oaxaca state and not in Cancún as you say. And it is the surfing heaven that many surfers around the world visit to experience the wonderful environment that is there.

Please do not tell me that the boat that "accidentally" made it to shore where the natives live is the story of the young man that went to do mission work for the church. If I remember correctly, the natives warned him the first time and he still went back a second time...all funded by the church. He lost his life that was 100% preventable and was definitely not an accident.

My folks lived in Volusia County, Florida and especially New Smyrna Beach in the southern part of the county seems to have waters that are shark magnets. The young man who mows their lawn was badly mangled at this beach some years back.
