So many of these dogs I hear you saying are such tough dogs for you with such bad issues and they all look so much easier than my dog. I think I need to inquire about getting some help with my doggo.

I love that you notice how dobies push things with their noses. Both my dobies do that. There are other physical things that I've noticed only that dobies do. Every dobie I've ever known or seen playing, uses their neck when wrestling, to pin the other dog down, as if their neck was another leg or arm. I hollered when I saw Prince do it in one of your videos the other day! I've never seen any other breed do this like dobies do. About their nose pushing, I've also seen several dobies use their nose to flip cats and kittens when playing, as if their nose is a spatula and they're flipping pancakes. They'll use only their nose to play with the cat, as their head is usually the same size as the whole cat. My dobie uses those talking buttons, and instead of having the buttons on the floor for him to push with his paws, the buttons are on the wall or on a high step, because he never took to using his paws and it just made sense to him to push them with his nose. I've wondered if it has anything to do with their intelligence or just a way they take advantage of their size. I've never seen any other tall breeds do these things. They use their noses as if they're another limb.

Been trying to do this for an 8 month old puppy I'm baby sitting, can't believe 15mins is a lot of work for you, I've been doing it for 2 hours so far but not as much progress. He doesn't look back when I correct him, he just constantly pulls at the leash even when we are standing still till I literally drag him backwards for the turns. I swear some people will think I'm downright abusive, since he will pull till his front legs and in the air and still not want to turn back. (Using a chest harness btw since the owners doesn't like neck collars)

Hmm..my 18 wk GS might turn out to be this big. I tried the 180 degree turn and gos with him, I was too aggressive with it and I bruised my pup’s throat or trachea. He started snarfling and snarking, first on exhale then doing reverse sneezes, now still rumbling, I have a vet appointment in a few days, He’s still recovering..I think instead of a lot of jerking him around, I’ll move to a Herm-Sprenger prong..I tried putting on a cheap halter and he was a freak..

Are you walking my dog?? lol Just got a dog that's been giving me a headache on leash training. And she has to be leash trained, I haven't got the muscle to push a stroller and strong arm a pulling dog. Looked up a lot of leash training videos, implemented it in a training session. Nothing. I think I'll copy your method for a week or two of sessions and report in later. I feel your pain!

How old should a dog be before I try this method? My pit is a pulling monster at 6 mos old. I’m worried if a let it go, it will be uncontrollable when he’s 1 year. But I also worry about making him neurotic at a young age and doing worse damage then pulling - which seemingly can be corrected as an adult

My Malinois is 10x worse then this german shepherd.
1000% hyper active and not looking at me at all.
Not only an infront dog, he is 1000% focused on the, surroundings.

Pretty sure, you cannot train him like this shepherd

Only the stupid owners (90%) go throug it who take their dog for a walk before they have taught him the most basic obedience rules. But at least this way crooks like you can make a living.

Just come across your channel as we are really struggling with our fox red Labrador. Around 15 months old and a constant puller on the lead. If we take him off and he sees another dog he is straight over there all excited ( frustrating and embarrassing as the recall is non existent). I’ve just subscribed and watch a few videos. Used this method tonight including leaving the house and wow what a difference already. Can’t believe little things like this can make such a huge improvement already so thank you so much for posting. Will continue to work on this going forward. Was there any update on how this German Shepard got on?

Lmao I had to laugh at this because it's so relatable and you have all my sympathy haha
After 5 years.... My German shepherd {working line} still walks like this most times. Many people with working gsds i know have this problem because they have an agenda and a stubbornness to take control and be in charge.

Looks like Dane is disengaged, what worked for mine was finding the reward that is most exciting for mine, and that ended up being toys. His ball specifically. Would do anything and would tight heel a mile for it.

If I'm in tight public areas, mine is on a head halter. That's where we had to be and what I had to be content with that he will always want to forge ahead. Makes things like obedience nearly impossible haha

The issue with my husky is that he doesn't even want to walk, he just wants to smell everything, so it's more like a struggle to keep him the right direction rather than whether he's in front of me or beside me.

This was an absolute game changer watching this. I learnt so much from this and instead of going on a long walk with my front pulling dog on a gentle leader I went up and down our front street footpath turning and popping when needed. But. My lead was in one hand and loose and my dog worked like a dream. Hardly any treats used too. But combining this with getting her focused on me before we even walked out the door, worked wonders. Thanks so much wonderful dog trainer.
