This is an awesome tool kit! I think the M12 driver was your best upgrade from the last setup. Been using impacts in different trades for years and the little M12 is so versatile with the locking extension.

I have the smaller veto bag and the tape measure clip works well to hold the impact so you don't have to carry it around. I made a paracord lanyard to attach the tape measure on the side of the bag

Was planning on trying to make a kit and this was so helpful. One tool that is a must for my bad is a rubber mallet it seems i always find a use for it

nothing feels better than when you build your own toolkit, ive built mine up over a few years and love my knipex tools, the pliers wrench gets used a lot.

You can drop the electric stud finder out of your kit and just use the level with magnets to find studs. It works by locating the drywall screws that hold the drywall to the studs.❤

Solid tool demo. I’ve recently moved and my limited tools and a mess, always annoying doing jobs around the house. Very helpful, haven’t heard of many of these brands.

Do you have preferred safety glasses?

I recommend klein's stubby, im an electrician and I never leave home without it in my pocket. The best feature is that it extends and almost feels like a regular sized screwdriver.... also, ill go ahead and say it. Wera is the $hit :).

Note your Uni T multimer has a non contact voltage sensor so the Klein ncv is redundant

Might have to setup something like this, when in doing odd jobs i constantly find myself going back and forth to my toolboxes and having to open several different boxes to get all the stuff i need. Would be nice for basic residential work to have a clean bag i can just take with me. I mainly do site work so my toolboxes are filthy

Im a carpenter by trade and tend to do trim work. The knipex are one of my favourite tools, i always carry them as they are so handy for getting smaller nails out of walls and timber where a hammer wont get enough grip on the head

I used to carry a kit like this, it was very enjoyable to kit and build out. However I eventually came to despise it; it was just too heavy.

Now I keep a small bag near my tool chests and fill it with the tools I need for whatever specific task I'm going to tackle that day. Then when I'm finished all of the tools get returned to their spots in my chests. It is a bit more time consuming but it beats lugging 60lbs of tools up and down multiple stairs to hang a picture at my mother in law's house.

This is an incredible video. I have always been intimidated by buying quality (but pricey) tools, so I always resorted to purchasing the cheapest Husky set I found on the shelf. I have a 40-pound tool bag stuffed with tools and sets I NEVER use! This guide has been incredibly insightful, and I'm super excited to upgrade my EDC Toolkit with some of your tool recommendations. Thank You!

Ditch the stud finder, they dont work anyway. Get yourself a couple of strong rare earth magnets instead. Move them up and down and back and forth on the wall, untill you find the screws that connect the plaster to the stud. Leave one magnet there. Measure 60cm whatever way you want to find the next stud. Move another magnet up and down to find the stud, and leave another magnet there. Cheap, quick and reliable method.

If i can recommend one thing is a proper flashlight upgrade. now it dramatically depends on what your looking for, but I think something like the acebeam H16 can replace both of the ones you have in your kit.

An electrician's knife can come in handy as well, including for jobs outside electrical. As for pliers and cutters, NWS makes great ones too, I just love their Fanastico Plus 200mm lever cutters for heavier gauge wiring.

The first of these videos inspired me to put together a tool bag like this using a lot of the same tools. I was using a bigger bag from the start so already added a small Bosch impact and full sized hammer. I was surprised to see some substitutions (Wera compact drivers) but they make sense given the bag size. I've been avoiding the Veto bag because of its price but the larger Husky bag I'm using gets quite heavy as I tend to load it up too much.

Glad you made an update video and I definitely love this kind of content!

You should consider some sort of general purpose metal pick, I didn't have one for years but now I reach for it very often.
Also a small wire brush is very useful
Thanks for the toolkit breakdown!

Great review. I would upgrade the knife to the Milwaukee fastback that holds the 5 extra blades especially since you keep it attached to your bag. As a maintenance guy it goes with me everywhere daily. Unless I’m dressing up then it’s Crkt executive but that’s besides the point. Nothing worse than trying to force a dull knife through something.

Thank you. Suggestions:

The 12v driver can't both be strong enough to break the non-impact wera sockets, yet not strong enough to replace the allen keys (with impact hex bits). Put the driver where the allen keys are!

One of two sets of sockets and bits can be ditched or combined (In other words, it might be excessive to have a mini 1/4" ratchet, regular 1/4", 12v driver, regular sockets, regular bits, impact sockets, impact bits). Now everything might fit in the bag (which was supposed to limit you :).

I think this might be the best load out video I’ve seen. I would love to see a video on an HVAC specific load out like this but honestly, it seems like you’re basically there? But an HVAC load out video from you would be awesome, maybe a follow up to this one?
