Super Mario 64 - Big Boo's Balcony

when I was a kid this was my favorite level, i cant belive i have forgotten how to get up there

I lost a bet and had to get all 120 stars. It was that or play silent hill 2 on the hardest difficulty and get all the endings. I am not facing Pyramid Head on 6 play throughs. it terrifies me.

They couldn't see that this was a shit star??? They couldn't see??? Jesus fucking christ....

Why this star is shit:

1. Hard to work out where to go.
2. The jump is like you're trying to access a glitch.
3. Easy to fall off the balcony.
4. Easy to walk back through the door by accident.
5. The star is on the roof?!?!? 

What were they thinking?!

Thanks so much for the help with this. These cryptic stars are ridiculous, especially when combined with that mentally crippled tortoise controlling the camera.

How bout a strategy for normal players? Lol a lot of us can't do those crazy fancy tricks

This is a Wii U version or a New version im playing the original N64 console version and i have try to achieve a triple to get on the roof which i have only been able to do about 3 times.

You don't need to do all that complicated stuff. The players guide says that you need to long jump to the window, then crawl to the star.

Man this SO much easier with a gamecube controller on an emulator. I remember back in the day spending hours trying to complete a single star with that wobbly ass N64 joystick and a blurry crt tv.

How do you do the wall kick technique?

Me trying to wall jump... mario now has 100 concussions and thinks hes a cat.

Whoever decided to plop the Star there deserves to be shot. Twice.

For normal players:
On either side, there is a thin flat platform at the top of each peak. You have to long jump across, then run until you reach it. Don't go too far or you will slide off the other side.
From here, press R to get into first person view, and go forward until you reach another thin, flat platform at the top of the main peak. You can then walk along (still in first person view so that you can see where you are going) and keep walking, switching between first and third person view so you can know where you are. Then just run down and get the star.
