Infinite Frontier Robin Is Essentially Mortal Kombat | @Comic Breakdown

Infinite Frontier is the current publishing initiative of DC Comics.

Robin is a brand new solo series, introduced in Infinite Frontier, following Damian Wayne as he competes on Lazarus Island in a battle tournament held every one hundred years by the League Of Lazarus.

Each fighter competes for the chance to reap the rewards of the island and to prove themselves to be living legends.

Based on what we've seen so far, it looks like fighters are allowed to battle to the death and there will be some brutal fatalities.

In the first issue we get to see someone's heart get ripped out of their chest!

I am definitely excited to see how this series continues.

I am curious if Netherealms will ever adapt this story into an Injustice style videogame but with the gore and violence of a Mortal Kombat game.

It would also be cool if DCUO created a battle royale mode based on this storyline.

I think it is interesting that the new Mortal Kombat movie, the new Shang Chi movie and the new Robin series are all coming out in the same year.

All three are stories about superhuman or supernatural beings facing off in a fighting tournament.

Is this the new age of superpowered tournament stories?
