ОтветитьEvery 40 hours? I'm 3 seasons in now!
ОтветитьThank you for this video - followed it and a complete success in servicing my own rear shock - great tutorial 🥰
ОтветитьHi Syd, I replaced the seals etc, but a few weeks later it had leaked. I didn't notice any damage or scratched. Any ideas?
ОтветитьWasn’t pumping it up the most crucial part? And it was just a simple sentence a the end … bruh
ОтветитьIt has worked perfectly for me 😊 Thanks a lot
ОтветитьBad bad girl
You need to put protection in your vice jaws (in steel) avoiding to badly mark the aluminium or any soft material of the shock.
Great job! Other tutorial videos can drive you crazy with the bad angles and horrible music. Pleasant voice!
ОтветитьA strap wrench is the best tool to open/close the can ;)
ОтветитьHi Syd, good tutorial, still a bit scary for me to do it for the first time but I will give it a try,, can I use SRAM butter instead of the honey stuff? Thanks!
ОтветитьReally helpful and good fun, thank you!
ОтветитьIt helps to cycle the shock as you let the air out gradually to equalize the negative chamber as it gets lower n lower. (Gotta do that on the bike tho
ОтветитьA cool trick I learned from aviation is to cut the old o ring once you pull it out so you can never confuse the old for the new. Cheers!
Ответитьso cool
ОтветитьGood video but I really wish I knew about the 1 minute tutorial option first, lol.
ОтветитьI love your hair❤😅
Ответитьput that on a pitbike🤘
ОтветитьDamping dampens things so dampening is the same thing a damping.
ОтветитьMay I ask how you equalize the chambers when you refill?
ОтветитьAwesome video! You two make it look easy and fun haha. Going to give it a shot on my X2 🙌🏽
ОтветитьMaybe get a better shock pump because you get no accurate air pressure reading even if you do what you did ,,, 170 psi take hose off pressure changed reattach hose pressure changed.!!
ОтветитьCan't say how much I appreciate these videos. You make it look possible without glossing over things the home mechanic may find difficult.
ОтветитьEvery 40 hrs 😄
ОтветитьWhat kind of paper towels are those? No fibers come off??
ОтветитьI have a niner RDO 2018. Congratulation for video. I managed to lubricate the shox fox float.
Do you have video with upper link? manutention?
Why use the slick honey when you put the Fox oil provided over it?
ОтветитьInformative video👍🏻 and nice fox trucker cap hanging behind🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
ОтветитьI wonder why fox, specialized, etc don't make more rugged components like dirtbikes at the expense of 20% or so mass increase for those components. I'd gladly take a 0.3 lb to 0.5 lb weight increase for shocks that don't need frequent servicing like my motorcycle, dirtbike, or race truck do. They can keep the lightweight lines for the pros.
I'm willing to bet it has something to do with service profits (to rebuild them for you), planned obsolescence, and increased sales from broken shocks.
Most rebuilds cost $50 - $70 in labor and $15 in parts, and you're supposed to service them every 40hrs, spending at least 2 hrs to perform it whether you schedule & drop-off/pick-up, or DIY. Sure it's fun to do every now and then but what the hell.
Great video, it’s one I’ll be saving for when I need to do this.
ОтветитьConi sins 😄
ОтветитьYou can actually get solid plastic picks (pokey tools). They can't scratch the air can like the metal ones 👌
Ответитьrecording air pressure is useless if you have a leaky shock. Just do the recommended fill and adjustment procedure after the service.
ОтветитьSome of the best tutorials out there. Thanks guys. Happy Trails.
ОтветитьNot that you are to blame, but I’m real tired of “ bike speak “ = made up terms replacing already adequate, understandable terms seemingly just used to make bicycle people feel: 2) in the know or; 2) part of the group. Front sprockets, rear sprockets, front air shocks, rear air shock…..just do fine. I went to a bike shop asking for slick honey- they didn’t know what I was talking about. Aren’t we all just tripping over each other ? It’s just too infantile & anoying.
ОтветитьThanks for this video! Realizing I needed some more shop towels, I tried using your affiliate link but the link is broken. Might be worthwhile to re-link some!
ОтветитьCan you make a video on internal gear hubs?
Ответитьis there a way to service these without a vice?
ОтветитьI cannot figure out why my Float DPS blue firm to soft (3 position) goes “crazy” randomly. At times, often after a ride the switch seems loose, stripped or broken - but its NOT 😅. I eventually just locked it in one position with the set screw on the body of the shock… whatever position would create 20% of sag at my weight.
ОтветитьYou’re videos are awesome and I love them. You both explain things so well. Not a mechanic but I can figure things out with your videos!!
Ответитьhow to equalize positive and negative air chambers while pressuring it up?
ОтветитьThank you , great video, where I can find seals? The link is no longer available!! Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьTo bad there are not more cool chicks like this out there!!
ОтветитьU don't have any fox float fluid in negative chamber u can put a bit on the stension and when u put can on their is a little in the negative side and full 2cc in positive side
ОтветитьPut both Teflon washer in first.
Ответитьim surprised you guys dont ever wear eye protection.
Ответитьdeadmau5?
ОтветитьGreat video! My rear shock seems to have "cavitation" going on. Will this fix that?
ОтветитьGreat job to you both. Fascinating to watch
Ответитьwhat tissue?
Ответить
