This is actually a bad idea if you love your feline companion. You are scaring the hell out of them at one of their most trusted spots, right where you feed them. This can lead to behavioral/trust issues. Remember, your cats trust you and when you violate that trust for a laugh, you can damage your relationship with your friend.

They don't jump when they see it. Only when they get the smell of it. maybe that is because Cucumbers and Copperhead snakes smell the same. So if you are in the woods and you smell Cucumber get away from it
